Nooooooo

Hi,is poker a good way to make money in online turnaments or is it better live.

Poker is an awful way to try to make some money, and anybody that gives up their job and tries to play full-time I would say 90% fail

I think anything with 💰 involved that is easy to do is what every1 wants, poker being no different. But now a select few have what it takes to make it happen, so yes you can with practice and dedication you can probably conquer an empire. Good luck and hope ya crush em.

It depends on your philosophy. If you win, someone loses. That is the question!:)

I don't have many live games, but online is a good way to raise some money. I personally do bankroll with a freeroll, and sometimes I enter micro tournaments. the current month I earned for cigarettes. That's a little over $ 100

if you are playing poker to make money , you will never make money , but if you are playing poker to enjoy and relax , eventually money will come :)

You can follow second option then ...
Meanwhile there are (too) many people here who follow first logic ^ (and are quite good doing so) ... lol

Hi,is poker a good way to make money in online turnaments or is it better live.

Depends on you. And plenty other things. Most importantly, the time you have for it, and the size of your pocket, what level you can play.

So far, the best way - the crypto could be the best, but the clueless droids (including my family) and the system made me believe i have to go to slave when i could make a real difference from that + (probably) the legal rats've stolen my btc, when the first boom came -, online tourneys. never would play live, couldnt even afford it. Online you have more options.

my opinion 100% better than take any kind of 'job' where you just slave for the daily lifetime thieves both gov and corp side (+ not being around noisy, annoying driods, slave guards, whose f*cking you around do more for less or nothing etc., use their words from an ads: PRICELESS!!) - but i dont live in that world, reality, where most of you unfortunately stucked, so probably my opinion is irrelevant for you.

GL!

Everyone is looking for an easy way to make money, if that's your goal then online or live poker is probably not the the way to accomplish it. Poker equals put in the work and then put in more work, this cycle never ends, continuous learning and adjusting.

To add to an earlier post, as long as several things continue to occur, only a select few will win on a continuing basis. First, there is an obvious way a person gets setup by the software. Have you experienced three players having a pair , say AA,KK,QQ? Or have you lost with a AA to a smaller pair? Or have you seen lesser hands remarkably beat your better hand? One last one, how many times have you seen the smaller bank with an awesome hand get beta by a larger bank with junk hands? I call it software player elimination. Being aware of what can happen betting out of position with what appears to be a quality hand and being aware of several players all raising before me or after me is a sign of another way for a lesser bank to get eliminated by software.

The second one that I am sure all have experienced is when a person appears to win every hand they bet. I call it software player selection. No matter what any player goes against this player will lose. It also works the opposite way. What I mean is the software selects a player to lose no matter what hands they play. The software will set you up, say with KK for only your next door neighbor comes up with AA. I learned to steer clear of the folks that win use several betting tactics when things look bad, to including folding.

I chance to say that live play is truly random whereas online, it's not.so. I am not saying these things are a fact. What I am saying is watching for these things has improved my game. The best I can figure is I am playing against skilled players plus I am playing against software that can set me up to lose at any time of play.

This is why I said earlier that there is no way to make a living online. Ying and yang - winning, then losing it back.

Cheers!
Dan'O

In many ways I agree, but I disagree that you can't make money online! Many people do it great.

I hope not

It is easy to be seduced by the glamour and fame of winning a big event, a few millions and recognition of your skills by the entire world... But the harsh reality is that of only a very very small percentage of players are considered successful, and even a slimmer percentage of these players are the ones that make the big bucks, the ones everyone knows by name and reputation.

Look at it this way, in a torunament, only about 15 percent of players make the money, but out of those only the top 9 players really make good winnings. The same can be applied to having poker as a career.

Other than that, I don't recommend going pro in Online Poker... The bottom fact is that you don't really know of the player on the other side of the monitor is even human.
I I hope online poker I'm playing a bot...
Bots can't play poker worth a damn!

Good way. But let's see how long the tournaments last. You should have free time.

Yes and No

Yes you can make money from playing poker rather its live or online. You need to practice, study, analyze, and improve your game for better results. With online poker you have options and its more convenient to play. If you don't have a casino in your area or you just don't feel like driving across town just to play at the casino you can literally get online and possibly make money everyday. But again it takes skill, studying, patience, discipline etc. and good bankroll management. Too many poker players fail cause of bad bankroll management.

No. I wouldn't quit my day job to play poker unless I'm rich and have other investments to support my gambling and justify my wins and loses. Well me personally that's just me cause that goes against my gambling philosophy. If you're not careful with your discipline and bankroll management in your gambling you're doomed for failure.

In conclusion there is lots of money to be made in this game of poker. It's all on you to make something happen with it.

like anything in our world, you need money to make money

if you have no money, you have very little chance of MAKING money

the best way to make money in this world is HARD WORK, providing a service for someone who is willing and able to pay you to perform it

yes you can "get lucky" in poker and turn 2 dollars into 200,000 if you win a satellite tournament and then win the big main event as well... but is that realistic? Or is is just a pipe dream? I say it's the latter and no one should be counting their money before they've won it. This game is extremely fickle and most players emerge from it disappointed and their dreams are never fulfilled. You should expect it to be that way, and if you do bink a big score, it will be the most pleasant surprise of your life.

but if you have 100K in the bank and don't mind playing 1000 dollar-entry tourneys, then sure, you can make money in this game... but who has that kind of bank? Not many of us... and those that do? They're MUCH more preoccupied with their job or their business, which is how they got rich in the first place.

Poker might have been a shortcut to riches in 2003, yes that is true... but this is not 2003 anymore, its 2021 and everybody is using solvers or illegally using "real-time assistance" software as they play, or getting coaching from top-level pros.... it's no longer the "easy" game it used to be, that's my point. Get a job and play poker in your free time, that's the best way to "win" at this game IMO.
