Play Poker for Fun or Money?

If you wanna make money from poker I believe it should also be fun to you. If you don't enjoy a game you're playing, you're probably going to play worse than if you love it. Which makes it harder to effectively make money.

So I wouldn't ask the question like OP did. I'd ask whether poker for people is recreational or whether they are ( or aspire to be) pro players (pro meaning you live from the money you make of poker.

When i start game i have idea to win... It is often to me when i play with virtual money then i win. When i switch later to real money i often loose, not always but i loose so i don't think that poker is way to earn some money, maby in future but for me not now.

To be honest I don't think you can be so black and white about it. Poker is fun and you can make money out of it. Even when I lose a big pot or get out played I still enjoy the game. I get far more enjoyment from learning from my mistakes, and then taking in a massive pot afterwards. But there is no way to say it's just for one aspect or the other

I play only for fun. Because of this I often lose. It's too easy for me to relate to the game. That to play for money, you need to treat poker as a work.

I have been playing poker for almost 5 years.
Always as a hobby, the money I win or loose don't make any diference in my life.

definitely for fun , in fact I have joined a free chips only site - a web based one Replay Poker , and when you sign in every day they give you 2500 chips ! Anyone you invite /refer now gives you each 10,000 chips !

I play for the love of the game, both for cash or for fun with the goal of constantly working on improving my play and maintaining discipline. I have recently returned to the play money tables on 'stars and am really enjoying the quality of play and also the ability to try new things without risking any bankroll (Though I do take my play money roll just as seriously and apply the same BR management rules). At the end of the day, it's all practice.

I play poker to win, and from what I win, I get pleasure !!! I do not understand how someone can play and constantly lose, and at the same time get satisfaction! Even if you play conditional chips, you will not enjoy the game if you constantly lose!
