What hurts worse? Betting into a monster? Or getting sucked out on the River?

The worst thing is not to learn from our own mistakes. I think that it is our mistakes that allow us to improve and become better.

Whatever happens on the river, we can't help but play strong hands! Otherwise we will never be able to win at poker!

Getting sucked out on the river is the worst. Especially when it's a one or two outer.

River by far, it's like getting hope snatched away at the last moment,
betting into the monster is like a choice, there might be signs not to continue but you did anyway, like a dark cave with keep-out signs, and you keep going, and there's blood on the floor, but you still keep going thinking it's a ruse, that there's treasure at the end of the tunnel, and there are roars thundering inside like that of a beast, but you keep going and get butchered

Neither, it happens all the time. I think, going all in on a monster or being all in by the river and the other player hitting that set on the river. I just nearly had a Royal flush on the river but the board was paired and ran into a full house.

Sucked out on the River no doubt :D

Betting BIG into a monster hurts even more though because I misplayed it, but betting small or something to get a sense of where they are at (and they have a monster hand) doesn't bother me a ton.

I have to say getting sucked out on the river. Betting into a monster mean you got the wrong read. It's your fault. Getting sucked out meant you played the cards right but they got lucky and you didn't. I rather bet into a monster than get beat on the river.

Hi Friend.

I would say that losing in River, what an ugly feeling is that you feel like a winner and the last card saves your rival and worse if his percentage was low.

If before the flop, then of course there are monsters on hand and allin. And if the game is going on, especially with several opponents, it is better to win on the river.

Falling into the river. It seems that the opponent's monsters appear less often than one percent on the river.

Monster hands come both to us and to our opponents, so it's not so offensive to be beaten sometimes.
But the magic outs caught by the opponent on the river are more annoying.
We need to learn to accept this as an integral part of poker...

I agree with this, because sometimes you're betting into the monster that represents a TINY part of villain's range, that most times, you're getting paid off, so you'll take those spots knowing that sometimes they'll just have that small part of the range that has you beat.

Getting sucked out on is worse because in this spot, you've put in your chips good, to only get unlucky. For me, I think it's the lack of control you have on the outcome here. At least in the former, I've been able to make my plays and trusting my reads.

The river has been punishing me for the last month, leaving me on tilt...

But it's normal, unfortunately.
