What hurts worse? Betting into a monster? Or getting sucked out on the River?

Betting

Betting into a monster is something I can control so if I do that then I missed the mark on my read. Having someone suck out is beyond my control so those hurt less.

Monster hands come both to us and to our opponents, so it's not so offensive to be beaten sometimes.
But the magic outs caught by the opponent on the river are more annoying.
We need to learn to accept this as an integral part of poker...

Betting into a monster hurts worse as you can avoid that a lot easier compared to getting sucked out on when you have a monster on the flop or turn.:)

I just try not to play with junk and that's why I usually avoid such unpleasant situations. Although sometimes, even with strong cards, things don't always work out in my favor.

Betting with monster hands and losing doesn't feel so painful if my opponent gets another monster hand. But playing a good game and losing on the river if I feel like it's the worst there is. Does not happen to you that this is very frequent in PS? If we could all get a count of this I assure you that the poker statistics would say that it cannot be like that, however in PS it is normal to have a good game and to be thwarted on the river by the opponent who has the most chips on the table, whoever tells me otherwise is that he doesn't play enough on PS to not realize it.

Getting killed on the river hurts the most regardless if you have a monster hand or not. That one card that you don't need to see finally showing up on the river is gut wrenching and heartbreaking.

I would say getting sucked out on the river is the worst but to be honest it would depend on the situation.

You mean losing against a poker player who played his AA very well, or against a noob that hits a gutshot on the river with his 46o???

Good question :confused::cool::rolleyes:

Getting sucked out on the river is the most painful feeling because it's like you almost made it then the bomb drops! It's the worst.
