It seems I am not the only one on here that
cant stand Phil Helmuth, I just think he is
horrible

I know he has won 9 WSOP bracelets and
millions of dollars in money but he is still
horrible and the way he insults other players
when they beat him is disgusting

I have never played on Ultimate Bet, dont know why
but I have never fancied it

when I first started getting into poker, I have to confess I really liked him, the 9 wsop bracelets is quite impressive and he should get due credit for that, but like you said after I seen how he insults other players at the tables he plays at really changed my mind about him. It would really be something if he plans on coming to either FTP or PS, I can just see him lighting his computer up on fire in frustration.

I wonder if he left... because of all of the random players that would come up to him to heckle him about UB's Hacker problem... and the rumor that he could see everyone's hand on the site.

It's all about money.. if they paid him what he wanted he'd be there with bells on. even lose on purpose to people if they asked him to..
These guys take the highest bid.. and that's what he's doing.

i've got a feeling that phil and annie will both join pokerstars or fulltilt. or actually one could be on one site and one on the other but i think phil will join daniel on pokerstars because it seems to me by watching high stakes poker that daniel is one of the only pros that can put up with his antics

I could see Annie heading to FT. Phil on the other hand, I have no idea. Maybe he'll just keep pimping that WSOP school that he's part of.

No way Phil goes to PS. They have built a brand and image that doesn't include Phil's antics. (not talking about him as a person or off the table, but at the table)

Annie probably doesn't have enough time in pursuing other interests to divide her time amongst the poker and other pursuits.....

This surprises me. I figured UB and Hellmuth had mated for life pigeon or killer whale style. I bet poker stars gobbles him up.

Let's face it, when Phil Hellmuth is in a game, who doesn't want to watch?

Somehow I can't see him at an FT / PS - not sure it's in the character of the man to want to be 'one of many' as I suspect he enjoys being the figurehead a lot more.

I sense he'll sign with a B&M casino chain in some way - maybe if they open up their own internet base.

Perhaps one good thing to come from this is maybe Phil will cease with his rediculous entrances into the the Main Event at the WSOP.

I have no doubt that both Phil an Anne will fall with both feet on the ground.

TBH I didn't realise this hadn't been made official yet - it's been coming for months now. People smarter than me have been speculating for months that being something like the face of a WSOP-branded site when online poker gets legalised in the US is the next logical step for him and in the meantime I'm sure he won't be hurting for cash.

I play at a poker site for reasons other than which celebrity endorses it. This makes no big difference for me.

This may be the case, but it makes a huge difference to a lot of other people.

I guess the "celebrity" poker players draw people to check out a site, but I would never choose to play at or deposit at a site because a poker player attaches his name to it.

How about if your potential competition at that site did?

I am assuming that Phill did this for a reason!? He probably has something lined up or in the works.

I have a feeling that he might have simply been fired, along with Annie. Perhaps UB wants a complete remodeling of their image.

Hellmuth is a great player - I just skimmed through his book last week and he offered some good pointers I will incorporate into my game.

As for his personality at the table, I understand from what I have read he likes to talk a lot to distract his opponents which is fine. But I saw a few Youtube videos of Phil chiding other players at the table. As a professional poker player, he just does not act like it. All the other pros call him a "brat" which from the videos, he clearly is.

But it comes with the territory. I mean, look at other sports:

Phil Hellmuth : Professional Poker :: Terrell Owens : NFL

Whether you love PH or hate him (or just love to hate him) that would be a monumentally stupid thing for UB to do.

Between the two of them UB is the one with the gigantic image problem. Any "image problem" PH has actually makes him more valuable.
