I’m def gona try it soon although I think the overall dynamic might be much more intense than online, at least at firstI've never played live to have an opinion either way but hope to one day. I have also heard others say live is easier but not really sure I understand why.
But my friends don’t have any money! 😂Live only with friends!
There is no difference between live or online poker, it depends on your level of mastery of poker strategies and skills and reading the opponents at the table.I play a lot of online NL Holdem sit & go’s but I’ve heard live poker is generally easier to beat. What’s everybody’s thoughts on this? Is this true?
Awesome reply thanks, I only ever play one game at a time online so I’m pretty good at not getting bored when I’m card dead and can usually avoid going on tilt etc. I’m itching to try live although I’m not sure how much I’d give away tellwise, suppose I could still wear a mask at the mo!From my experience, live poker(casino/ private games) tends to attract more recreational players or just people with money that want to gamble - still, a softer field doesn't necessarily mean that you'll win every session and it's just 'easy money'; plus, if you move from online where you were multi-tabling, this games might be too slow for you... Online, you can have more options of games(find opponents at different stakes easier at any hour of the day), you can play a much higher volume and you can stop/ resume your sessions whenever you want(especially if you grind Cash games). To make it short, IMO, you can find positive and negative sides for both and in the end it's up to each individual, so I'd advise you to go and give it a try and see how a few live sessions go and if you don't feel comfortable and/or the results aren't what you've expected you can just stick with online poker... GLGL at the tables $$$
Generally, yes. Loads of recreational players live. There are comfy seats, not stools like at the blackjack Tables and you don't have to stand like at a Craps table. Pretty girls bring free drinks, and the Poker rooms are a welcome relief from the chaos on the main floor. Lots of TVs for watching the Big Game (distractions are good). They come for the entertainment, and if they get lucky, that's the cherry on top. Rec players bring their electronic toys with them, and that's always good for your bottom line, as are free drinks (for them, not you).I play a lot of online NL Holdem sit & go’s but I’ve heard live poker is generally easier to beat. I never did play live poker in a casino but: I am talking about tournament poker online here.
The game is programmed; as the blinds get bigger and bigger, to eliminate the most players in order to get to the final table. The closer to the money, the more bad beats you get. And even though you have been a chip leader all through the game you may lose all your chips on the bubble.
For some reason I tend towards thinking that live tourney must be better.
Playing someone from across the table is much better/easier than playing an avatar, imo. They literally can't escape the confrontation, in other words they can't just sit out to fold, they have to do it in front of you and everyone else at the table. They can't throw a fake turd or a horseshoe at you, legally that is. It's just better since people are forced, to a degree, to be civil... In theory, anyway. Brick-n-mortar for sure.I play a lot of online NL Holdem sit & go’s but I’ve heard live poker is generally easier to beat. What’s everybody’s thoughts on this? Is this true?
I've played a decent amount of tournaments both live and online and I'd say you can use a 10X rule for determining live competition vs. online. For instance, if you go to your local casino and play a $70 daily you'll probably find players equivalent in skill to a $7.50 online game. the big difference (as has been mentioned) is that there are more people who are just there to gamble, most likely casino gamers who wanted to try poker instead of roulette for a change.I play a lot of online NL Holdem sit & go’s but I’ve heard live poker is generally easier to beat. I personally love live poker, some persons generally take it more seriously and I feel like I have more success with it. I am guessing that it might be that I play smaller stakes online and so people take more chances and are more aggressive. I also feel that with live games I am more patient.I play a lot of online NL Holdem sit & go’s but I’ve heard live poker is generally easier to beat. What’s everybody’s thoughts on this? Is this true?
