Here is all talk about luck come down to one and the same - long-term prospect! Suppose the truth is that in poker stars AA against 2 random cards in poker will win in 85% of cases in the long term, and assume that your entire long-term perspective is stretched to 100 000 hands of your AA against any 2 cards of the enemy, but you still have to understand that in the first 75 000 hands ,for example, the percentage of wins will not be 85%,and 40% of this can be? it even seems to me that it is,i.e. I lead to the fact that some players may not reach the real 85% in their entire playing career, and will play - until they throw this lesson with a 45% chance of two aces against any 2 cards!

I agree that in poker a lot depends on luck, but without skill you can not count on success. I believe that the key to success is constant work, on improving our own skills. Success is a variable component.

Of course, luck is one of the most important factors in poker. with the maximum calculation of the percentage, which hand you need to play and which you do not.:ciao:

It is sad but I think that the fortune has a very big weight in poker. For example, these situations when a lucky player has only 2-3 outs on the river and then is getting his card. I wish I would have changed the rules to stop the game on the turn and gave the bank to better hand in this kind of situations)) It would be fair

Always thought of luck as byproduct of hard work. What you mentioned with 2 or 3 outs, is more dumb luck. Putting yourself in postion to win a hand is having favorable odds. People seem to want put a percentage on luck verse skill. Developing the skill in this game puts you in a better position to be successful.

Luck seems to be associated with things like the lottery. Personally, my percentage value to luck in poker, is a lot less than what others indicated.

Again, poker means 90% math and 10% luck. If you don't have luck at least once in a tournament than you can say goodbye to first place.

Luck is life. There’s not one person in the world who won a tournament with just skill alone. U have to win the flips and races or your out and there will be times that your behind, in a hand, by the numbers.

Saying that luck has little effect on the poker but it's not so much moving in the day we see while playing right and luck is not repelled.

I am amazed at how much luck is involved. Most of my biggest losses have come from someone slopping-out on me. My luck factor is very low, and the river is not my friend, but, when I finally hit my full house, yes, yes, yes, and someone hits quads on the river. WOW !!!
Yet, somehow I am still ahead. Yippee !!!

Yes, no luck in poker. Although the ability to also play a role. But it's not always enough.

If you can't win more than your fair share of flips in a MTT you won't win more than your fair share of chips. You need luck in MTT's atleast to avoid 5%,2%ers.

I've played four tourneys today. I lost all four on a flopped full house to higher full house. In one day, I must be the unluckiest guy in the world. Opposite of being lucky. Or could it be something else?

I agree with the forum member
mitroff, skill skills, patience also play a very important role in the game, and luck in the game is also not bad when it comes at the right moments, I agree that there is more luck in the casino and in poker you need a lot of patience and skill!

HAHA Yes!

You have to be lucky for sure to get to the last table in a tournament.

It is a game of Chance! This statement is as real as the Random Number Generator that governs the cards that are laid down.

lol number one reason for tilt isn't it? being unlucky that time and then the next and it seems the skill of knowing when and how much to bet doesn't save you from some unlucky cards from time to time.

So YES luck is a very big factor when playing a game of chance.

:D

Hi Cloxy,

Oh, how much I share your pain when faced with getting outdrawn by anything less than four outs on the river! Why that specific number? I'm not sure but it seems to be a general benchmark between a gross river suckout and a river suckout. That could just be me... Perhaps anything over 7.6% is too close to 1/10 and therefore you can't argue 'I had almost 95 percent equity maaaaan'. One-outered on the river would probably be one of my least favourite way to lose a pot (thus far).

Perhaps your Riverless Holdem could compliment 6+? Riverless 6+! [emoji1303] I like your idea but feel an oversight is getting outdrawn on the turn, which for all intents and purposes now is the river in all but name, no?

in poker anything is possible but do not get used to playing based on luck, he has a small part in the game. make a real money game test ... for example, the first 10 hands play all the cards you have at hand and see how you stay ... if after the first 3 hands you are still at the table :):flute:

Luck is part of the game, even if it is good luck or bad luck.
