I remember hearing about a poker player *sorry about the name don't know*... But he won money and they asked him what he'd do with the money? because it was quite a big win.

He says just play more poker and focus on my next wins :) ...

That's what winning players focus on... Focus winning and concentrating where they'll be best at next.... Retire when you've had enough and then enjoy the riches after the whole journey if you get there... Not one big win and spend it big and waste it...

Seperates the men from the boys imo ... Very important to keep simple and basics every bit of expenses chews up your bankroll which will accumulate over the long haul... You get expensive cars... it takes INSURANCE and repairs and maintenance will kill you... just food for thought

Jamie Gold is flat out awful. I honestly think Moneymaker was and definitely now is better. In all reality, only a very few make it long term on the mtt circuit.

Sound like something happens to Jamie Gold. Maybe he is retired, or he is not really serious play poker.

Eastgate sold out his a bracelet on Ebay. What a lame...

Everyone keeps saying he's broke or what not. The fact of the matter is, at the time, Gold won more $ than anyone in any poker tourney. Now if you ask me, I play this game so that I won't ever have to play this game again. I don't know if that makes sense to some of you. As much as I love the game, it's the truth.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gold has his money invested in other ventures. To think he's busto because he doesn't put in volume is ridiculous.

I don't know if he is broke but to sell your bracelet something must be up. I don't think he has many skills anyway seems like someone who has a general understanding of the game but he makes terrible moves. people go broke for not keeping their money in check.

He was definitely entertaining. I'd reckon he is sitting on about $ 1.67 million left. Anybody know what he had/has produced?

hahah you say that now, take 500k out and never play again after you lose it. Its gambling when its all said and done. Some peoples addictive personalities are worse than others. 10M is a shyt load of money and to ship it back into poker is scary as ffff. who knows what I would do with it, I love gambling love poker I think id just play cash games 3/6 possible and have fun with it

I have to agree that Jamie Gold is a terrible poker player. Its hard to watch him. I have heard that he is having financial problems since his 2006 win. I mean he made a deal with some guy that if he won he would split any winnings with him. in exchange for helping with the buy-in and getting celebrities to play under the bodog sign.
He decided to reneg on that deal and the guy sued him and they settled outside of court a year later. but They say he has been having money problems since his win. I can't stand watching him play. Terrible just awful. I agree with the pros who analyzed his play at the 2006 WSOP.

Bankroll management applies to all aspects of life.

So very true, i have friends who live paycheck to paycheck cause they cannot manage money, so sad.

i saw a guy that looks exactly like jamie gold at coconut creek casino tonight. can't say for certain if it was him but if it was he isn't broke. at least not yet, was playing $10/$25 no limit (i believe) in the room behind the glass.
