some ideas to get to the money in a poker tournament, they are pretty standard but it is always good to remember
  1. Play cautiously in the early stages of the tournament. It's generally better to avoid risking too much in the early stages, especially in tournaments with deep structures, since there are still many hands to be played.
  2. Observe your opponents and take notes. It's important to know your opponents' playing styles so you can adjust your strategy accordingly. Take note of your opponents' tendencies and playing habits to exploit them in the future.
  3. Carefully select the hands you play. Instead of playing many hands, it's better to play only the strong ones and avoid complicated situations where you have to guess if your opponent has a better hand.
  4. Control the size of your bets. It's important to make bets that are big enough to protect your hand, but not so big that they scare off weaker opponents.
  5. Adjust your strategy based on your position at the table. Play more aggressively when you're in a position to steal the blinds and bet less when you're in an unfavorable position.
  6. Keep your emotions under control. Don't let your emotions control you, whether you're on a winning or losing streak. Stay calm and make decisions based on logic and reason.
  7. Learn to read situations. Instead of just focusing on your own cards, learn to read the situations at the table and make decisions based on the actions of other players.

Hey surfer,
That's a good idea man. It's good for beginners, but wouldn't hurt anyone else.

I already knew and use these tips, they are great!
it will help a lot of people.

a tip from me: in the early stage of the tournament, play only the best possible hands, avoiding losing your chips because if you lose it will hinder you in the middle of the game. So, focus early on building your chip stack, but not like a madman betting every hand.

tips for beginners I think will help them get a lot of money if they only play for the top places and if they need to play at the final table I think they will need to play more and more aggressively to get more chips to play normally and feel good at the final table

These are really great pieces of advise especially for beginners in tournaments. One question on taking notes on opponents as I haven't yet gotten into this habit. Is there an easy way to do this on pokerstars, specifically the mobile App version? If so where you can tag players with a comment e.g. aggressive or jumps all in with any pair etc. then can these tags persist even if you meet the same player in a furture tourny / cash game etc.

To me another standard idea should be: only go all in if you certain that you have the nuts or that your opponent will fold for the move.

I'm not a fan of this idea he suggested. An all-in move decision should be based on your stack size and your opponent's aswell and of course there are a lot of other factors,

is it a pre-flop shove?
How much it's the pot odds and your equity?
How many players left and what's your position towards them?
Are you ITM? Bubble? Early or mid stage?

Amateur players tend to avoid the all-in move since they are very risky and to a certain degree that's what they should do, but in a lot of the times specially in tournaments the all-in move it's absolutly essencial otherwise your getting your opponents the correct odds to a call.
In the long run they will lose a lot of chips.
