I have been playing poker for about 7 years. For the first two years, I didn't even have a rough idea of what bankroll management was, and to be honest, it didn't really bother me. But after another loss of my bankroll, I realized that I was doing something wrong. My work colleague told me that my problem is bankroll management. He explained the basic principles to me and over time I developed my own bankroll strategy. Since I started following bankroll management, my results have improved significantly and my bankroll is growing, albeit slowly.

I might add that almost all high stakes players agree that you need to have at least 500 buy-ins before increasing the limit. So that you can play without pressure and, if something happens, you can lower the limit back by just one step, and not by 2 or even 3 - your bankroll will allow this.

Bankroll management is a cornerstone for any poker player seeking sustainable success in this card game. It involves smart and effective management of your financial resources while you play. In other words, it's about knowing how much you're willing to invest in your bankroll, setting limits for both losses and wins, and making decisions based on the amount of money available to play.

Proper bankroll management is especially important for beginner players. Defining an initial bankroll is the first step. This should be a sum of money that you can lose without negatively affecting your personal financial situation. Additionally, it is essential to set clear limits to avoid significant losses in a losing streak and to ensure that you withdraw after reaching certain profit targets.

To carry out effective bankroll management, it is essential to use an appropriate buy-in strategy. This means that you must play at tables with betting limits that are proportional to your bankroll. Avoiding "tilt", an emotional state that leads to impulsive decisions, is also key. Recognize the signs of tilt and take a break if necessary to avoid irrational decisions.

In short, bankroll management in poker is a fundamental skill that helps players maintain financial stability and long-term success in the game. Discipline, planning and constant evaluation are essential aspects of this management. By following these guidelines and learning from your experiences, you will be on a better path to sustainable success in the exciting world of poker.

Managing your poker funds is very important; it can be compared to financial management in your own business. After all, when we play poker for money, we initially invest in it. And how we manage the money we invest in poker depends on whether we can make money on it. One of the rules of poker to play on a bankroll, if you take tournaments, is to have funds to enter tournaments of at least 100 entries.
If we talk about the cache, then the availability of funds for 30+ inputs. And this does not guarantee you a 100 percent result, even in this scenario, you can lose money, you also need knowledge, experience and practice, the more the better. It's the same with more money the better, sometimes poker can be won by quantity rather than quality.

I think my suggestion is the most basic of all and the one that all mtt professionals recommend. But in the case of the mtt, play tournaments in which you can pay 200 entries.

Of course it's important to manage my bankroll, but we're always human and can do a little too much and afford to play just above our limits, and it's okay not to leave too high limits play $11 tournaments, although I can play below the limits, but since I'm confident in my strength and I play above the limits

It is definitely the weakest part of my game that really requires my immediate attention. For some reason when I have a large bankroll I blow it quickly playing high stakes spin an go. I just don't respect the money, only the thrill. Fortunately I only blow winnings not my own money. No excuses really.

Of course, it is important not only to play poker well, but also to control your money, because there is no point in winning a lot if after a while it is all lost again

Bankroll management is crucial to being profitable in the long term, in any form of gambling. Whether you bet on the Horses or Dog track's Playing slot machines or other Casino games like roulette and blackjack.
It all comes down to the old adage "Don't place all your Eggs into one Basket." Gambling with Scared Money is a sure way to go broke whatever game you are gambling at, Having the common sense to limit yourself, to what you can afford to lose, is paramount, in order to gamble responsibly and being able to walk away and return another day with a new sense of purpose.
People often say "Don't try to win back your losses" Chasing dead money only leads to more Dead Money, and ultimately Bankruptcy!
Set your limits, Stick to them, and When it's Gone, It's Gone!
I limit my Bankroll by only buying into games that are priced at 1% or less than my Total Bankroll, So over a period I can lose up to 10% of my Bankroll without it hurting me so much I cannot come back from it. Some players might use a 2% limit, Neither is wrong, because at the end of the day we are comfortable losing that amount, So it's important to Set your Limits. Stick to them Religiously, and if you are continuously losing It's Time to go back and Study Why you are leaking Money.

Good Luck!

Being in control of your funds is one of the most important things in poker as you can lose all your money in a single day. That can have bad consequences in your life.

I've heard a similar theory to play sit.amd.go to 180 players to avoid pressure you should have a minimum of 500 buy in most loosely to 1000 buy now.

If you want to have fun and get some additional money 100 buy ins are enough for climbing limits .But if you want to live only by poker I think it's 500 buy ins.

Either you like it or not you need to play according to your bankroll , besides skill . Either on poker or on casino . Crazy sudden super wow wins don't come in online poker . I can testify this . So bankroll management is needed or else you'll lose money again and again and again .

I think money management in poker is very important.
If I win money and then lose it quickly and aimlessly, that's bad.

Always fighting with this one, everyone knows bankroll managment is important, but when you are in a downswing it is not easy to stop, I always spend a few more bullets on tourneys and that in the end hurts you the most

Bankroll management is crucial in poker because it helps players control their finances and minimize the risk of going broke due to variance. Properly managing your bankroll ensures you can withstand losing streaks and continue playing strategically without significant financial setbacks.

Bankroll management is the key of success in poker, If you don't manage your bankroll, you're punting away long term EV in favor of gambling, and that's just irresponsible. You make yourself super susceptible to tilting and busting and you will be always a losing player and never make a good step in poker.

BR mgt is indeed very improtant, but some of that stats in this thread are crazy. 500 buy ins for top pros is total nonsense. This means for their $10k high rollers they would need a $5 million roll!!!!! and for the $100k super high rollers $50million !!!! Add to the fact that they are always swapping % of each other to limit variance, they likely have nowhere near standard BR mgt suggestions at all.

Also at lower levels its important to have a BR mgt process, not really the exact number from a book or what you have heard.

Final point on BR mgt that I think many nline players get wrong or misunderstand, is your BR isn't the same as your money in one account. If you have only $10 in 888 say but $500 on GG you an still play $1-5 buys on 888 if your BR mgt is 100 buy ins.
What I am getting at is your BR can be total BR across all sites. In the end, regardless of BR, just don't regularly play above the levels you are comfortable with, but also don't be too cautious, take some shots, to keep it exciting and to test yourself in bigger games.
