i would take the money for sure

- put it my bankroll and work on improving my game even more
- start playing lots more smaller local live events (in australia)
- get another year under my belt, try and get another seat in 2011
- go to the wsop main event in 2011

(i can dream can't i? lol)

I would definitely play, as a matter of fact I have a tournament cash back in March just shy of a buy-in ($40), so that's my 2011 WSOP ME buy-in, costing me a total of $255 (plus whatever they tax me, but with 10 months deployed this year I should be below poverty line anyway... Gotta talk to my accountant aunt...).

As a matter of fact, I plan on playing in the 2012 game too, should the 2011 game go well (as in I had fun, which I'm sure I would). I've got a lot of practicing to do before then. But without a doubt, I'd play.

If I had a family (wife and kids, not mom aunts/uncles brothers/sisters cousins, nephews) my decisions might be altered slightly. I have dreams of making a ME final table (lol pipe dreams to be sure) or at least putting a bad beat on Helmuth... Or outplaying him...

I'd cash that out so fast it wouldn't even be funny.

Tough decision for me. I have to say upfront that I doubt very much if I have the ability to compete at that level but notwithstanding that I would be very tempted. On the other hand $10K is a lot of cash and would allow me to step up from the buy in level and play at and allow me to test myself at a higher level.

If push came to shove I think I would take the cash.

if i was good enough to win because of skill and a little luck i would definately play.

if today or this year i won a seat i would cash out because it would be due to mostly luck and some skill. in otherwords i'm not that experienced to win one. i can sattelite into them but not quite get to the finish.

you can only ride on the seat of luck so far, hahaha. luck is a factor in any game to a point but you have to have a lot of skill to win and carry on in the WSOP. :)

just love poker.................peace.........;)

It'd be hard turning down the opportunity to play in the ME, but I'd have to take the money. Part of it would be invested in my poker "career", so I'd probably play in the following year, though.

Like Dirty Harry said, "A man has got to know his limitations" :D

I'd definitely cash out.

No brainer for me. If the tourney is over 5% of my bankroll I would turn it in for cash. If the tourney is 5% or less of my bankroll, I would not feel bad at all playing in the tournament. Bankroll is everything to me. I do not want to start over or be out of the game. Currently the bankroll is $1118.

My neighbour won a seat yesterday on Stars. He's going to play it (but then again he has over $100k profit in MTT's on Stars & am pretty sure he does quite well playing live poker). I feel like a f'n micro schmuck. Time to get staked & quit wasting time in micro donkaments.

Just remember that you will probably play differently with someone elses money rather than your own.

Right now, I would take the cash. If I had a stable job, and family, I would take the honor of playing with some of the greats. Would be a great experience even if I was the first guy out.

Take the money and use it to improve my game and then go to the WSOP.

The WSOP is a once in a lifetime opportunity, but winning 12k is also a once in a lifetime opportunity. I would have to cash out the 12k, but I would always wonder what would have happened if I would have played.

Ashamed to say it but at this point I'd take the money I need it so bad. I could use some of it to enter online tournaments. I'm not that experienced live, actually. But I think it's a moot point, I've never seen an online promo on a poker room that said you could do this - they usually have a clause specifically saying you can't do this.

I'd easily take the money and as a degenerate gambler, find a Pittsburgh Pirate game guaranteed to lose by RunLine -1 1/2 (+135) or better, then let it ride for an easy double up.

This is a tough decision. The little devil on my left shoulder says, who ironically looks allot like Sammy Farha says "You gotta play...This is what its all about...".
On the other shoulder sits a little Chris Ferguson reminding me of the kind of bankroll i could build with that kind of money...I don't know...Somebody give me 10k and i'll make my decision.
