Poker

When poker gets really boring, you just need to sleep well. Try to switch to household chores for a while and your passion for poker will return with renewed vigor.

I miss live tournaments. Online isn’t the same. Hopefully the world stops pretending something is more deadly then it really is soon. So poke can go back to normal

Since about 7 years ago, I ever was a maniac passioned for poker. At the four last months of 2019, I could make good earnings on poker live. Since January of 2020, playing poker is like to hold a big rock. I hope someday I could have that old passion again.

I think I know how you feel, I really need to play live poker to regain my enthusiasm for the game. Nothing like manipulating the chips playing with friends in person:beer:, chatting, making a poker face:bandit::D..

I hope that in an hour my spirits will return, I was saving money to deposit online and start a real career and now that I was almost reaching the goal of collecting $ 1000 dollars I totally lost my enthusiasm ...

Yea, I've been feeling the same. Playing poker lately seems more like a chore than a fun hobby. The money I make from it also doesn't justify the time I put into it, especially if I'm not enjoying it.

I find online poker is so boring lately, might have to give it up and find something more interesting to play.

Sooner or later fatigue comes from any kind of activity, you just need to take a break, and if you really love poker, then after a while you will be drawn to it with renewed vigor.

This is what distinguishes a professional from an amateur. For a professional there is no concept of fatigue, but there is a working time and a rest time.

I think the passion goes away because you keep repeating the same game pattern over and over again and you get to monotony. Try to rest a good time from poker or why not, learn other variants of this that are not texas holdem, that may result in you and you will come back with more energy and more desire to play, remember that the world of poker is a, plio so trying to be good at all variations can be an exciting challenge. Regards.

I lost my excitement for poker many times over the past several years but it always comes back. When it happens I play less or not at all.

Do yourself a favour and make sure you don't regain this passion. Take up something worthwhile instead.

I've been having that same feeling lately. Feeling kind of stuck.

I think poker is very hard to balance , especially with a full time job if you work. It is an interesting game and think it is much better in a way playing the odd leisurely game in a week. If you want to get really good you need dedicate an enormous amount of time to it and MTT's are very time consuming.

I have found it hard to balance with social activities and sport and it can become quite draining and make it hard to find the will but if you start to feel that way it is good to take a step back and try and play games when you have the desire.

Priorities:

In my opinion, we started to martyr ourselves in certain situations such as:
Losing money, not giving priority to family and friends, not giving priority to leisure, etc ...

It is a bad time that we all have the best thing is to start studying again and improve the confidence in the game since the good times will return

I have lost my excitment for poker

I have lost my excitement for poker, because I play tournaments I guess. They are long, boring, and hard to win, but I continue to play, because I like the game.

Sometimes I lose my desire to play poker. These are mostly wild moves from opponents with lower cards. And I noticed that a temporary break helps me. Moreover, the break can reach several months.

I never get bored of poker but sometimes I get annoyed by my inability to be anything other than an average player.

I sometimes decide to take a couple of weeks away from poker but end up playing again in a couple of days.

I have been playing more than 40 years now and I can't see me stopping playing poker while I am still breathing :)

Poker is just one thing I have lost my enthusiasm for over the last 14 months as covid-19 has shut down our lives where I live. No casinos. No golf. No dining out. No movie theatres. No sporting events. I am so tired of waking up every day and having little to do. There are a bunch of projects I could begin, but after a couple hours on one or another I get tired and have to crash. Online poker is fun, but I only play three times a week with online friends.
Let's both/all hang in there and get through to the other side of this world-wide mess.

I understand you.

Take a break and then come back, that's the right thing to do.

I think that the average player mainly plays for fun and if you then have to experience times when you can't win at all, then you shouldn't drive yourself crazy, but rather take a short break. Regardless of whether it is about poker or anything else, nothing should be so exhausted that you lose interest in everything and that you see yourself as a looser. But when it comes to poker you should admit that it's just a game and like every game you win and you lose. Of course we all love to win, but losing is also part of the game and if you can't handle it then it's time for a break. But if you feel like you can't take a break from playing poker despite the bad feelings you get, then you should ask yourself why you are playing. Do you play because you like the game in spite of everything or do you play because you are addicted and feel like you have to play it even though you really don't want to? It is important that you assess yourself correctly.

I think the reason is that you just played a lot. And as you write further, you began to play again after the rest. It was enough to take a break and rest.

I used to play once a week in a local pub game, in fact I actually ran the game for about 6 years, then decided that it was time for someone else to do the work, and gave notice to finish at the end of the season which was in January 2020.
There were a lot of things that had led up to this, one was that the Landlord of the pub had finished and moved on, and the new Landlord was not as enthusiastic about his Pub being used as a Casino once a week, another was I was tired of running the game and spent so much time behind the scenes, I lust wasn't playing as well as I knew I could, so I wanted a break and just concentrate on playing Poker.
Then Covid hit the World news and it all finished abruptly, but I did miss the weekly game,
Luckily I found Cardschat and got a new interest in on-line Poker, I hadn't really played on-line for around 10 years, as my preference was for Live matches, but as it was the only way to get my Poker fix, I jumped in and played a lot of Sit and Goes, plus all the Free-rolls until I burned out about 6 months ago, I just played way too much.
I still play the Free-rolls and had some success, winning a couple, but stopped playing as many SnGs, I play just for the fun of playing but on-line the game loses something, so I have slowed down a bit, and as with everything, too much of a good thing, gets a little boring after a while.

When the fun Stops STOP!
(or slow down)

I have a similar situation. I took a break. I haven't played poker for over a year, especially playing in tournaments that require a lot of patience and self-discipline. Now interest has returned, but without the same fanaticism as before.)
When interest in the game disappears, this is not the worst option. Some people cannot stop playing and get out of the state of a gambling addict.
