I was actually pretty old the first time i started playing poker. Its actually pretty ridiculous how i got into it. My cousin and I were playing the video game Red Dead Redemption and there is a part in the game where you get to play poker. We spent more time playing poker in the game then we did anything else. I fell in love with it. The very first time i played for real money was at Hollywood Casino in West Virginia. I bought into a $1/$2 game with $100 and ended up leaving with over $800. I had a big hand with ducks, that pot was around $500-$600. I hit a 2 on the flop giving me a set. It ended up being good and the feeling that i got when i scooped those chips was almost better than sex. I still get an incredible feeling whenever i win a big pot. Do you remember your first time playing poker? And do you remember the first time you won a real pot playing poker?

Hi.
In general, card games have interested me since childhood. But I started playing poker in 2016. I was 35 at the time.
Good luck.

I started playing when I was 16 years old, I used to play for $1 with about 8-9 of my friends at the lunch table. None of them were any good so it was a good way to buy lunch most days lol.

I was 12 and in Jr. High. It was for cash, but not cash out during play. We played for gum/candy because we did it before school, lunch and sometimes after school. I remember one time i ended up with a whole backpack full of candy, actually ended up making more cash selling it to other kids at a little markup. for 2 years i was "the candy dude" at my locker.

I started when I was 18 (long time ago...lol). I was watching the main event of wsop on TV and I thought how cool was that card game. On the same day, I learned the rules and a few days later I started to play on the free sit'gos games on Everest Poker (very long time ago).

Kinda funny how a lot of folks usually remember their first session at the casino to play poker but have a much harder time remembering their 1st session of online poker. The stories are usually better live than online.

First time playing holdem for money I was probably round 22. Just with friends at house games around the time Texas holdem blew up i.e. moneymaker on espn.

I started playing for real money quite recently, at the age of 18. I played with play money for a couple of years before that.

I started playing poker 4 years ago. In fact, my coworker taught me the basics of the game, and since then poker has been my favorite hobby that always gives me pleasure and sometimes even money.

I started playing poker when I was in the Navy, at 21 yo.
Back then we played 5 card draw, 7 card stud, and other games involving deuces and one eyed jacks wild.
I didn't start playing Holdem til about a year ago. I find this game, more challenging than the times I played in the Navy.

I started playing poker 11 years ago. I started playing at the age of 28. In fact, it took me 4-5 years to start making a profit from the game. It was quite a while but it was worth it.

I started between 45 and 50 years old, it was even interesting, I only played with fictitious money, one day I won a ticket to play for real money, from then on I never stopped

I started playing at the age of 42. But to be honest, I don't think it matters, the main thing is that the game brings joy and pleasure.

I don’t exactly remember how old I was. I think first time I played poker on real money was when I was 17. Before this I only played with my friends. And one day I decided to play for money. I understood that I was quite young to go to casino, moreover in my country there are 3 or 4 cities where gambling games are legalised. In other cities only illegal. So I asked my friend, who played a bit for real money, to advice poker room. I downloaded pokerstars and made first deposit maybe 10$, I don’t exactly remember. I played few spin and go tournaments and a bit cash games. I last all my money in 2-3 days. Then after maybe one week I made another deposit also 10$. And I have played for few weeks. I won and lost. It was good I read books, started watching poker tournaments and and read some guides. It helped me to improve my game. That’s all I think.
