Quite often, I make the decision intuitively. But I have been playing poker for 7 years now, so I think my intuition is based on the experience I have gained over the years.

The poker isn't just this extremes... you need to think about what are you doing and why. Thinking, you can 3bet with 82off, if you know that you are facing a loose player in position, for example.
