Neighbor

My neighbor has lost track of his losses. He has been putting $50 at a time on pokerstars, thinking that is saving him money. However, each time I talk to him he is telling me about the last few times he put $50 more on there! Best advice, be careful, don't play it if you can't afford it, and keep track of how much you deposit!

My biggest loss in poker would have to be when I first started playing poker, and I had a bit of money I thought I would go round a mates house who plays poker often with his friends. The pot got to about £800 and about £350 of that was mine I had triple 10's so I was fairly confident and at that time I wasn't too sure on the rules and this guy called Adam had a Flush. I felt sick afterwards and at first thought he just made up what a flush was because he knew I didn't know the rules properly. hehe

How much have you ever lost in the past?
Nothing can compensate losing it all....
I went to Atlantic city this past weekend, and I checked out a couple casinos that I neglected the last time I went to play. however, I felt most comfortable with the same choice that I made when I made my last trip to New Jersey, this past September. I went to Tropicana, and played in several different ring games, including $2/4 limit holdem, and $1/2 no-limit. I intended to register for a compensation card when I first arrived, but I was engulfed in an urge to get to the table any play. Eventually, after several hours of playing, I peeled my body off of the seat that I had occupied practically the entire night with the intention of going to information desk, and picking up a comp card. I did, and expected for my compensation time to go into effect when I got my card. Well, the floor manager suprised me by giving me credit on my comp card for having been playing since 3:00 am(it was about noon). Although, I had been there since far before three Am, I still ended up with less compensation credit, then i had truly earned, but it was a nice jesture for the floor manager to do that for me. If anyone plays at Tropicana in AC, and knows roughly what the compensation level is there on Fridays and Saturdays, I would appreciate even a short thread with some #'s. I know now that I shouldve registered the moment i got to the casino, but now that i got the card, I think I'll be getting some good comps, that is, if I play there for another 20 hours! Either way, I lost about $400, but it was due to my reluctancy to quit when I was furthest ahead. I have come to realize, that once you have the biggest stack you've had all night, in a limit game, you can pretty much expect for that to be your best play, and equally, expect to only make more and more loose decisions as the fatigue sets in. It was these bad decisions and my stubborn conscience that caused me to lose it all. Thats the worst ive ever done, period. Cal

We have a daily $80/$160 limit game here. I can afford the swings, but that was a bad week in that game At only a little over 2 and 1/2 racks down.

I think all together I've broke even, I mean I've lost what I've bought in with but also won some of the pot in 1st then turn around and play more so, I can't say I've lost a ton. Tho I'am sure I'll come to that point. Online I've lost a bit but I try to avoid playing with money online. Computers don't seem to like me too much.

I have a rough idea on my losses--took some really bad hits while learning the game and styles--and it ain't good---looking forward to the day i can climb out of the grand canyon and say i'm even.. haved closed the dam somewhat now going back and forth--1 good day 2 bad days---getting closer to turning that around to--thank god I still can't add very well to get to the actual total :)

how much lost

I am surprised at the level of honesty here. I thought everyone always talke about their winnings and never admitted the losses.
I've lost more than I've won, I'm sure, but not by much. Mainly this is because I can't afford to lose anything with my wife disabled. To me the cardinal rule of gambling is never bet if you cannot afford to lose. And my wife keeps me to it.
So it's freerolls all the way. Now, if I thought about what I could be earning per hour and how much time I've spent here, I'm afraid it's 100K!!!:withstupi Leftylou

I lost a 9000$ pot last year. I bet 4500$ with a friend that the Patriots would win the Superbowl, and I won the bet. Then he asked me to play heads-up hold 'em double or nothing, and I, half-drunk, said yes. Eventually we were right back where we started, 50 chips each. I got KcKh and went all-in preflop. He called with Ac6s. Flop came 9c5c3c, turn Ks, river 8c. Rivered his flush (and mine), lost K-high flush vs Ace-high flush for 9000$, making me owe him $4500.
u couldnt of been that drunk if u remember all that ice

... isn't double or nothing... ? let me get this straight... First bet... +$4500 .. someone offers double or NOTHING... they win.. you are even.... you win you get $9k....

explain
Eventually we were right back where we started
does that mean he got even .. then talked you out of another $4500?......

let me know... so that I believe the story.... :withstupi

btw... I got this bridge... its a steal.. j/k

Started at noble a few weeks ago with a $16 signup bonues. I began playing lower limit tables and eventually had won close to $5000.00. As my bankroll grew larger, i began to play at higher limits. I sat at the 5\10 nl table one morning with $1000 and after a few hands was up to $1500. I was dealt KK one hand and the guy under the gun raised $100 and i reraised $200. He called and we saw a flop. Flop comes out 2 2 K and he bets $200 so i raise $200 since i had flopped a full house. He comes back over me all in and of course i call. He turns over his hand and shows AK to my KK with the board bering 2 2 K. I was elated over the fact that i was about to win a $3000 hand. That was before running aces hit giving him a bigger boat and robbing me of the biggest pot ive ever been in. I would be bitter about the situation, but i have cashed out $1500 and am sitting on another $1000 in just a few weeks worth of time and no initial investment.

I've lost more than I've won on online poker mostly because I never feel the withdrawal is grand enough and I end up playing the measly deposit down. In live action this is certainly not the case.
