I have deposited 50 bucks about 5 or 6 times and ended up losing it after a while. i always try to make alot of money by taking it to a big ring game and end up losing it there. so my advice would be dont try the big games unless you got the money for it.

Hi my friend, by the time I've never had any big losses in poker, no. So on the other hand I have not had any extraordinary results yet, I try to study and play so that one day I can have an excellent result in this sport of mind!

I am a new player who has only been playing for around 6 months. I read about lots about strategy and did much practice before signing up and playing real money poker. I made minimum deposits at a couple poker rooms to take advantage of new player bonuses and have built up a solid bankroll at both rooms.

I am a firm believer in proper Bankroll Management and am even a little excessive when it comes to this. I try to build bankroll from freebies like bonuses and game tickets etc. and play the freerolls whenever there is one running and I am available to play.

I have had days where I have lost 7-8 buyins (NL2) but I was able to quickly recover and make it back.

I will only play games that are either from freebies, like the spin wheel on 888 or something I have 100x the buy-in to play.

You must be playing at stakes that are much too high for your bankroll to be able to lose 40$ in a few hours. This is why you must follow the BRM. If you where properly rolled for the game you played then you could easily bounce back. Losing almost 50% of your entire bankroll should not happen in a few hours under any circumstances.

Hello.
I play only 7 months. At the moment I lost about $ 100.
And so I decided to play only in freerolls to get the necessary experience and stop losing money.

Lost

My biggest loss in one night is -500. That was playing 1/2 at the local casino. It came in a couple of big hands but mainly I would like to also mention the pot I lost about 200 from miss reading my hand.

player opened to $10 we call with 57suited. flopped the strt or what I thought was the strt. 469 flop. player bet $30 and I called... one other player called... no flush draws on board... blank turn... player bet $60, I raise to $150... they call... river blank... they bet $100... I re look at my hand and fold. stupid stupid stupid.

My biggest loss in poker would have to be when I first started playing poker, and I had a bit of money I thought I would go round a mates house who plays poker often with his friends. The pot got to about £800 and about £350 of that was mine I had triple 10's so I was fairly confident and at that time I wasn't too sure on the rules and this guy called Adam had a Flush. I felt sick afterwards and at first thought he just made up what a flush was because he knew I didn't know the rules properly. hehe

How much have you ever lost in the past?

I loose on ps lifetime more $10k, and $5-8k on the other rooms.
won less:bandit:

I only lose in slots in casinos. This year, about $ 2,800, everything was won in poker.
I don't play poker for cash.
In tournaments, the biggest loss is $ 215; I won a ticket to him through several satellites.

I've only been playing for about about 6 weeks. It took me a month to lose $70.00 at low limit hold'em tables online. But here's the thing that's bugging me... I started right away researching and trying to tighten up and improve my game... and now I lose faster than ever before! I've already lost another $10.00 (in less than a week) on top of the original $70.00 :-(

Things I've noticed:
1. I am much tighter and don't play all that many hands. I used to think any two cards can win. But not so anymore. I tracked my wins vs. losses doing that and was SHOCKED!
2. I am beginning to understand why some more experienced players hate playing with "fish"... Fish chase cards all the way to the river with NOTHING to start with, and end up getting their miracle card. Anyone else would have folded long before or never even played a poor starting hand. GRRRRRRR!!!!
3. But my biggest leak is not paying close enough attention to what the other players MIGHT have. I'm really bad about this especially when I think I have the nuts.

I know you didn't ask for this kind of info... I'm just rambling here. :) I constantly think about this.

This hits home! I too feel the more I study, the worse Ive become. I cashed out 22k in 2010, and now Im 1000 down in the last 3 years. Go figure I dont feel I am getting better for sure.

"I had tripples" Aw bless you! That says it all.

Reminds me of my first times...

I played 10K hands on wsop.com for free before moving to money.

I think I lost around $500 before making around 1k now?

Def learned about tilt, rest, playing while tired, and bankroll management...

About 1.8k my freshman year in college. I didn't know about br management, tilt or variance and kept depositing 50 to play 50NLHE.

Tough lesson to learn.

I lost not much of my money in poker around 200-300 dollars, now I try to play more freerolls and raise a bankroll so as not to dampen and not spend my money, and sometimes I manage to win and raise my bankroll!
