I am new to the game and trying to improve . So these past few days I am completely hooked into the game trying to win some freeroll cash. I can play all day long but the quality might not be the same after an hour or two.

Now I am playing only in the evenings and on weekends as I have another main job. Approximately 2-5 hours per day.

My time in the game depends on the cards that I get on your arms and from rivals at the table. Maybe 15 minutes a day or maybe 5-6 hours a day.

I think 4 to 6 hours depending on the tournament. Never I have played immediately after playing for 4 hours in one tournament

It all depends on whether I play on-line or live games, On-line I can manage about 4 hours before my eyes begin to get sore, in a live game I could manage around 8 hours with regular breaks, it's not definitive but Old Age can be a bummer some times.
Playing Poker is always a drain on the grey matter and concentrating for long periods is taxing, but with regular 10 minute breaks I can get a breath of fresh air, go to the bathroom, or even buy a drink, it helps, On-line however is a bit more taxing because of the screen glare effecting my eyesight and the fact you only have 5 minutes to refresh your self, is a bit too short.

When the fun Stops, STOP!

i can play many hours in a row but the problem is that i often dont notice that i am getting tilted or tired so i dont stop at the right time . but it is very important to stop playing when you notice that you are not playing good anymore due to tilt or fatigue

Years ago I played too much.

In my first several years, I would just play all day every day. But now I play more seriously and I can play for 5-6 hours. After that I need longer break.

The most important thing is that I have a day off. As for the number of hours I play, I can stay in the game as long as I can.

And the other thing is to prepare everything you need from food, drink, etc

I like to play MTTs that will end in like max 5 hours. When I do make it into a larger tourney (qualify for like a Sunday event) then I prepare my time, also food and drink, so I can go 12 hours plus if I'm lucky enough to go deep - but that's my mental endurance limit.

In a casino I can sit down and play for a long time, like minimum 12 hours, up to 36 hours. What I like to do is sleep until 6pm go to the tables, play from 7pm-7am, take a hour break for breakfast and head back to play till supper, and then cheat and sleep from 10pm-5am then hit em at 6am while they are all tired and stuff from playing all night.

Good tips to take.
I can play 4 hours in a row, take some time to breath and get back full blow.

It is very important when you have free time playing
If followed in play (talking about tournaments) believe that there is no time limit I can play
If it is essential to take breaks from time to time so that fatigue does not weaken your game

I just want to share my experience so far. I started playing online again this year.

I love MTTs, but I was never good enough to last long. After I got some re-education about the current poker meta, I started getting to the late phases very easily (micros).

So, going on with the satisfaction (illusory lol) of beating the field I was playing I decided to venture into the Moneymaker qualifiers (I had 3 torneys a day to play for only 1 cent! loved it!) I already knew I would not qualify. But the intention was to put in a lil volume.

Having a career, I started to change my work routine so I could be available at home still during the early afternoon. That made me start working much earlier than normal.

So, onto the grind I got myself playing almost everyday (Work is priority of course) from 3pm till around 11pm.

Honestly, after a week or weekend that I spent more than 7h playing (I play 3 tables max only) a day, I would get absolutely wrecked (mental exhaustion) the next few days. I had the same experience when I moved abroad and had to use another language I was not fluent to communicate all day long. I would come back home and just turn off like a electronic.

Having that said, I believe that the amount of hours is build up like muscles. The more you practice, more your mind gets situations as automatic responses (like different languages). So, I still feel happy that the progress is coming and I am being more comfortable playing longer hours.

*I play poker as a hobby only and love to study it. Hopefully it helps anyone in the same situation.

I don't play every day. I find it tiring and it becomes a very addictive hobby. When I play, I look for short, quick tournaments. Something around 1-2 hours. But if I'm doing well I don't mind spending more time.

The number of hours of play is decided by you but you must take into account that not everything is the game, you must have a job and even more remember to dedicate time to the family, it is the most important thing you have.

I play for 1 - 2 hours. If playing tournaments, it depends on where I finish.
