I'll have to get a big win first before I need to take advice from this forum haha.

Although I play cash games and was just on a 12 buy in heater and I think I win tilted and blew off 9 of those buy ins. I might have ran bad but I feel like I must have made some mistakes. So maybe I need some mentality coaching

Cash out bank your money and keep alittle bit more then what you usually deposit. That way you can keep rolling yourself and you build your bank roll while playing higher buy in tourneys.

well I still did not earn a high value, but I hope for that day but I would leave a 10% to continue playing.

I withdraw some of the money that I won, and buy good things for me. So I see the benefit of my poker game. And I enjoy not only the game, but also from the things bought.

If I'm in process of moving up levels cash out everything except the bank for the new level. If not then everything except for the original bank at the current level.

Can't imagine a worse investment than letting it set on a sight where I don't plan to use it.

That's the kind of problem I want to have. Still waiting for my big win :) First I would enjoy it and have a smile on my face for at least 2 weeks. I would put some back into poker, but take some out to buy the hubby a pressy. He puts up with me playing poker all the time! :)

when I win, then withdraw funds, and I, too, leave for myself funds for the game so that I can play cash games!

That's really up to you. When i started playing online poker i made myself a document how to manage bankroll. I'm following it and its going good for me. I'm withdraw once a year, usually before my summer vacations :). I'm not going greedy to join bigger tournaments for bigger prizes. I'm really happy with the tourneys i'm grinding. Once i feel i can join some of those tourneys ill do it. Till then im following my BR management. *Soon making a new one for bigger tourneys, bigger prizes!
That's a pretty good tool. i have that in my head, but sometimes I jump off the line and later I tell myself: What did I tell you, huh???
Stay with the line!!!

I think it depends on if you are playing as a professional or amateur.

I'm an amateur so I leave all of my poker winnings on the site. I also play live and I keep those winnings to play other live events. You should always have a poker roll and a life roll. I'm fortunate to have a job so I can keep the two separate.

The amount also matters. If I won 3X my annual salary then I would pull some off from poker. I think the rule is 100 buy-ins .I might leave it and start playing high rollers :)

If its a huge payout I would cash out but leave enough on the site to have a nice cushion on my average bankroll for the stakes I'm playing. A while back on bovada I won first place in a larger MTT that paid out just under 5k but I normally didnt have more than 1k on the site and I was able to deal with swings just fine, I cashed out 3k and was able to play in some different games and still handle any swings.

What I did was to keep some of the funds within the site for some of the biggest games and withdrew the rest.
I keep 25% and spend the rest on
my wife. She is the one that has to
put up with me.

Wow, very serious and thoughtful replies. I really expected "Cocaine and Hookers!!" to be a top ten answer.

Recently won a little over 2k in a month with an initial $200 deposit. I withdrew it all to switch to a different site. Planning on depositing 1k and keeping the other. I'm considering buying a mid range laptop but honestly the more I think about it the less I think i really need it. The point is get something that will make you happy.

It would be helpful to know the dollar amount of the win. If we are talking REAL big I would say probably a vacation with the family.

I'd spend mine on women and alcohol and then waste the rest. LOL

Really I'd assess my priorities by needs.

Take wife on a long weekend away from any casinos.

Upgrade the bank roll with an eye to moving up in buy-in size.

Save as much as possible..

If this is a very big win, it is better to withdraw 70-90% (at discretion)and leave how much you do not mind to lose.Spend it on something useful for yourself and your loved ones(for personal motivation for the next victory).Big mistake beginners with big wins, this is an attempt to win even more, which is often deplorable for them. Therefore, Bankroll management is the main task for every game of poker. All good luck and victories!!!:ad4::ac4::as4::ah4:
