I have been playing online just over a year now and haven't deposited yet nor have i withdraw been griniding freerolls then using that money in tournaments and cash games but i always seem to lose it all back.Then i start all over again, been playing everyday cuz i'm unemployed yet no luck i have been bad beaten like like 95% of the time still trying i have $7.47 left lol.

I have made very very little profit from online poker. Thats why i prefer to play live vs online. Online poker is just a tool for me to keep my live poker skills sharp!!

i was up about 1300 last month but now i'm probably down about 400+.

a 1700 dollar downswing into the red in just a month screams of poor Bankroll Management.

am i missing something here, the way i read this is frog was up 1300 and lost 400 so giving a br of still 900

I decided when I started playing online (about 3 years ago) that if I wasn't good enough to make money through freerolls, then I wasn't good enough to invest my own money. So far not much in earnings, but I haven't lost any of my own money!

Hey, I commend you on your honesty sir!!

I have good friends who are down $5K+ online but imo they are very good players. Not blaming it on online poker or anything like that, they're just not too concerned about bankroll management. They like to win & then like to play big buyins to win more (works for awhile some of the time).

Myself, I'm a HUGE bankroll nit which really kinda sucks imo. There've been many times when I've considered taking a shot at a run of decent buyin MTTs but then play a few above the micros, then it's' back to the priv. donkaments, playing for peanuts. Maybe I'll pool all of my smaller poker bankrolls together on one site and start playing some decent limits. (yah.... just not 'today'... hmm.. maybe tomorrow, lol)

Well since I started depositing what was it 2, or 3 years ago I would safely say I am up, since 2009 I withdrew hmm around 2,300 $ I think, putting in only a few hundred for that to happen (3-400 I would guess) but of course that is not enough to make a living of poker, which is my goal. To me withdrawn money is profit, the rest is just the bankroll.

I thought I was really close to getting there just a few days ago when I played the wrong game @ the wrong stakes with an incredible , and I mean incredible bad beat streak so it only took 1 night to lose 70% of my bankroll.

Lost more since then, taking a few days break but not giving up on it that's for sure

Ixe been playing online for money since Nov. 2009. Down about $150. OK, in weeks thats about 15. 90% of my losses in the first 13 weeks, the last two I am holding a bit better, I hope its a trend and not a phase. I am spending more time analyzing my games and learning odds and theory and trying to apply it all to my playing. If this thread is up in a month or two, I will be posting how it looks again......

Agreed, plus his dad will somehow hit some heavy variance where he'll go some few games without cashing as well. Bad bankroll management if you can make that much money that quick I would say.
