How do you explain more and more girl in poker world? Once upon a time poker was Man-ly game, nowadays there is lot a women in poker playground, Much more on online poker! Why there is no that much girls in live events EPT or APT? Are they are scared.. or are they are really not that good as others, probably mans. Or they don't have money to play? I love to see more and more girls..even more then mans on table. Mans are flegmatic.. and girls battle on tables are much more interesting and agresive, and it effects on their playing. We love Vanessa Selbst, Rousso, Liebert.. Harman, Boeree, but we need new faces..How do you see girl on poker ture?

Now more and more girls can be seen in men's professions and this gradually becomes the norm in the whole world) I think that girls in poker are great! You are right about the game of the girls is very interesting to watch, especially for the beautiful and successful) I did not play live poker, but it seems to me that it would be more difficult to play against girls, because they are harder to read. And if you add distractions like cute face, open neckline, perfume, etc., it will not be difficult to understand why it's hard to play with such opponents)) Maybe I reason from the point of view of a bachelor, but I think that this is so!

Sincerely speaking, I believe in their potential, but do not bother me or scare their presence.
I play my game and not theirs.

I think, it is very cool, when more and more girls play online poker.
Obviously, women are not inferior to men.
This was proved by Olivia Boeree, Vanessa Rousso, Celina Lin.

I noticed that girls often play softly incomprehensible. You can compare the game of poker and driving around the city. Unpredictability and female logic can be an advantage, but can at one moment ruin.:D:p

I think the game is evolving and we are seeing more female players enter the game. There was a time when poker was considered a game men play but that dynamic is shifting which is great for the game.

I think online poker has opened the door to allow more people who were interested in the game but did not feel comfortable going to a casino, or joining an established game, to learn and enjoy the game. This is helps for players to feel more comfortable playing in a live setting which can be intimidating for new players, especially when you might feel like the "outsider" because you feel you do not fit the typical norm.

Televised poker has also helped to showcase some very talented female players. Players like Harmon, Violette, Russo, Ho, Johnson and a bunch of others have proven that women belong at the table and are a force to be reckoned with.

So why don't we see more women at these bigger events? I think a lot of factors play into that. I think men in general are drawn to competitive activities so you will see a larger pool to generate great players. Same reason that a large urban school is much more likely to win a sporting event over a small rural school. There is simply a greater chance of finding more good players in a larger group.

I also heard a report of women in the workplace are less likely to apply for a job they do not feel qualified for than men. I am not saying that women are not qualified to play poker, but this same concept may keep many capable female players from entering the poker world. As a side note, this is one reason I typically give women in a poker game more respect, especially in live play. Most I have encountered are above average players.

Finally, I think men need to ensure that we are making poker a welcome environment for female players. This game is still dominated population wise by male players. We should ensure that we are not alienating people from the game for reasons outside of improving the integrity of the game. (removing cheaters, etc.) Unfortunately there are still many male players that do not think that a woman belongs at a poker table and will try to intimidate them. I find this not only ridiculous because you are possibly driving away a person from the game, but is that how you would want your mother, wife, or daughter treated? Would you want to be treated that way should the roles be reversed?

I love the fact that more women are getting involved in the game and think it enriches the game. I think many women bring a different approach to the game that creates new challenges for players. Those challenges are the reason that we are all drawn to this game to begin with which is "How do I outplay my opponent?"

Good Luck to everyone at the tables.

^^^This! Thank you for your explanation. I am a woman and I do feel poker is more centre for men, advertising quite often has attractive women in revealing outfits, even my friends think(or thought!) I'll be a push over when we play but none of them know more than 'ace is best'!

I've never played poker in real life other than wih my friends but I definitely want to. Maybe I should get my local casino to have a ladies night :D

Hi to all. I think that there are less women in live tournament because it's more difficalt to stay calm there and to hide emotions.

For poker, you need a mathematical approach, and men more often have this way of thinking than women. That's why there are so few women who play poker well.

Its easy to understand.... My wife is into poker. She began to watch me, about two years ago. Now, she has her own site and wins. She took first out of 637 players...

Gender is Irrelevant

Men, Women, Old People, Young People, all are welcome at the poker table. Just be respectful, play your best, and finish second (behind me). What more can we ask?

In general women are not as aggressive as men.

That is why there is a dearth of females winning big money tournaments.

The women that are good players are quite good.

Basically you can't be successful at no limit if you are too timid to raise with the nuts.

I think there are less female players because males tend to be more aggressive type of people than females generally, but not always. Females can do anything males can do, but that doesn't mean that they want to. I think it might be similar to why more males go for STEM degrees than females, but again this is not always.. in this day and age you might get fired from your job or for saying that.. *ahem Go *ahem o *achoo gle anybody?!

Don't know why male and female distinctions are even mentioned. Women are just as capable to compete in poker as Men are. There are just fewer of them playing.

If we want true equality, there should be no gender only type tournaments. I think it is demeaning to have tournaments excluding one or the other gender.

The poker playing less than girls, because normal girls create a family and have children.
