People around me do not play poker. They neither influence to play nor criticize. They just let me be. I just do not inform my father everytime we visit because he does not approve on what he thinks is a waste of time.

A lot of people when they hear about the game of poker think you are a gambler. It is very difficult to argue with them, often it happens that they do not even know the rules. I get that too but my bankroll is built up from nothing playing in free rolls so I’m actually not gambling any of my own money.

Family, close friends and wife are all supportive. I don't hide anything from my family/wife they know all the wins and loses. I was right up front with my now wife back when we started dating. About the 3rd date I believe she came over and I was purposely just finishing up a Sit n Go and of course she asked about it. After finishing the Sit n Go I pulled up all past hand histories from HM2, showed her and answered every question she had.
I have also always made it easy by having a good poker real live balance, don't play over my head and have receipts to show I'm a long time winning player at the stakes I play. All that makes it quite obvious to anyone close too me I don't have a gambling problem/addiction and I'm not gonna lose everything on my fun, enjoy hobby/pastime.

I had a lot of discussions in the past with my ex-husband (or still-hubby) about how to play certain hands or how to play at all.
About brm and about anything poker related. This is good, if you have such a sparing partner, I think.
Or maybe also have a poker buddy who watches your game closely and criticizes you. This is just good for the development of your game.
And if it comes to family, who do not know how to play poker, I am lucky meanwhile.
They do not criticize me anymore since they know I am a reasonable player, who does not play house and ground away.
