Set yourself something of a challenge such as - I will play as many dailies as I can for a month(or3 or 12, w/e is good for you) and then after that you could withdraw half and play normal games with the other half - then your playing with house money

Depends on how much you have I guess. I've just started out with a $100 deposit. I only play $1.10 buy-in re-buy and add-on guaranteed $200 - $250 prize pool MTTs. I play these because they're cheap, the prize pool gets inflated because so many players play wild and fancy-free, keep losing and keep re-buying, and obviously the player pool is very soft. Blind levels last 10 minutes so plenty of time to bulk up before the blinds get big.

If I lose before add-on time I just quit, i.e., I don't take any re-buys. If I'm still in at add-on time I take the add-on for an extra $1 unless I'm way ahead at that point.

I'm playing on a smaller provincial government regulated site in canada so the number of entrants only gets to 100 - 150 in these tournaments.

That seems to be working for me so far.

Read some of the threads here on proper bank roll management & follow the advice. You also need to work on your attitude, playing scared does not work. A conservative, cautious attitude is fine, if you are comfortable with that approach but, playing scared, or not to lose is a quick road to blowing your roll.

I think that whether you lose money or win depends only on the level of your game and the lower the level, the faster you will lose them!!! Raise the level of your game and you will not have any questions about how to make the money in the account last for some time))) Allocate a certain amount of money and a certain time for the game per day and spend the rest of the time on training !!!

Generally you should play slower tourneys with cheap buy-ins. Learn ranges for each table position, so that you can maximize you chip growth with careful hand selection. You should play games where the buy-in is around one one-hundredth of your in-game money. So if you have 100 dollars in the poker client, then play $1 games or less. This preserves your winnings and serves as a healthy way to cushion the blow of a downswing. Don't move up to higher buy-ins until you amass a bigger bankroll. Even then expect the game to be different each time you move up a bit. Players get more challenging to play at higher levels. Eventually figure out what sort of tourney type and buy-in amount gets you the most consistent winnings, and play there.

Bankroll management is a very important part of the game of any successful player. My system is quite simple, but very effective. I never spend more than 3% of my bankroll per day or session. This system helps me a lot to be efficient and steadily increase my bankroll.

if you want to make your money grow in poker, the first thing you have to do is to study the game a lot, then play a lot and be constant and very disciplined, then you will achieve your goals, poker will reward you sooner or later.

Segregate your winnings..

If you want to make your winnings last, it is simple: put X % (or certain amount, say 15,20,100, 500) straight into bankroll.
This way, whatever you lose, at least your bankroll increased by the amount you put away.
Also, playing free-rolls saves money by taking up spare time otherwise spent at the cash tables or buy-in MTT'S. Good luck going forward.

I think starting with small buy-in tournaments might be an alternative. There are tournaments at pokerstars with a buy-in of $2.20 that pay very well for the first players, it can be a start in your career and maybe a great success. Playing some satellites as well to be able to enjoy a little bit can be interesting.

Might be to conservative !

I don’t have a big bankroll so maybe I’m not playing too agressive ! The worst thing one time I wanted to add money in my account but couldn’t find the procedure to do it ! Me I’d like to have $100.00 in my account but I don’t so maybe I could play higher amount tournament ! Sooner or later your bounce to win one ! This way you should never drain your account I hope!🍷

Just think of it like investing where you don't want to lose your principal. Lets say you have 110 dollars in your account. Then you could consider your principal as 100 dollars. You could then wager at small stakes with the extra 10 dollars but if you lose it then play freerolls until you get back to 110. If however you do well and get to 120 then you can raise your "principal" to 110. If you get your principal up to 210 then cash out 100 and principal is back to 100. If it gets easier over time to get cash outs you could consider bumping up the stakes slightly.

Whether you lose your money or not depends on your ability to manage your bankroll and on the level of your game! Learn to manage your bankroll and you will understand which tournaments you should play! And of course, you should constantly work on your game and discipline! Good luck in your endeavors!

I use my money won in tournaments, 1 or 2 times a week, on the other days I play freeroll, as much as I can

In this case, you need to play small entries or small buy-in tables.

I'm cheap when it comes to buying into games; $1.10 is the most I've spent on a game to date. But with those small buyins also comes small prize pools. It really depends what your goal is or if it's more just for fun/hobby. Though, I've also heard that those bigger buy in games have way better poker playing too so that is also a factor to consider.
