Girlfriend. Example: Yesterday. Playing in a freeroll on Full Flush, 40ish people were left, 30 got paid. I hit Ac10c, my gut tells me to shove and I say it out loud, "Should I shove with this?" just rhetorically asking myself. Of course, girlfriend hears, "What? Why?" uhhh. In my head, I'm thinking something like, "Because the chances of everyone else folding are extremely likely given the stack sizes, blinds and how close we are to the bubble" etc etc. But I can't say that out loud, mind was too focused on either shoving or folding. So I folded since she's breathing down my neck. Ended up finishing in like 43rd or something. Not a big deal, just a freeroll. But still. Significant others, man.

my fiance ALLLLLLWAAAAYS bugs me when im playing, it sux when im tilting and sux when im on a heater. sometimes shell just poke me or stare at me while im playing and i cant get mad or anything. lol or if shes hungry i have to get off tables... ugh lol

My main distractions are the children.
Not a lot of poker is played in the school holidays or on the weekends.

I on the other hand have found that the biggest distraction i have is boredom, especially when a tournament seems to just drag on forever, especially if your sitting at a table with a person that takes a while to make a play every single time. I think a lot of them do it on purpose, to try and get others to tilt, me it just bores me to death

thank you, a local casino i used to play at used to be horrible to me, i have decided one day i will return and annoy them like never before. inane none stop chatter is one way but a much better way is total complete silence mixed with taking 5 minutes to make every decision on every single street. mixed with the fact i outplay them and they get frustrated this is awesome im not sure if there is a better recipe then standing up unzipping my flies and pissing on them. so thank you.

You should have to avoid distraction on poker like Family members wanting attention, Disturbances with the power or Internet, Negative emotions or tiredness and the most important chat. I found out chat is the most common way used to distract a player.

Watch poker while playing poker really works for me. It even makes me play better for some reason. Now the EPT is up i watch it a lot, it also improves my skills.

oh im easily distracted at times like when the gf comes over in the middle of a tourney or if she comes over when im in a ring game i get out of the game as soon as possible being a single man she is a very nice distraction that i can deal with lol
