Youtube always shows (introduces) me the contents (winning seens) of Daniel Negreanu although I´ve never seen them.
How is he great?
Anyone has read his strategy?

Obviously for money. This kind of move happened all the time not just in poker but in every single business that has a platform. For example, streaming, youtube gaming, Facebook gaming, mixer and etc. pay a lot to bring streamer to their platform and the streamer change platform because they offer more money and benefits. Like Shroud, he moves to Mixer and his viewer decrease drastically but he doesn't care because he already made tons of money from the deal.

Hi.
The reasons may be different. But I think he clearly sees the prospect of his further development in this direction.
Good luck.

Does anyone know why one of the biggest poker players in the world Daniel Negreanu left PokerStars which is still one of the biggest poker sites in the world today to go to GGPoker which is still considered a small site (platform) in the world of poker. :jd4:

My understanding is that it was contract renewal time at pokerstars and both parties wanted to alter the existing terms quite dramatically and therefore couldn't find a compromise in which both were satisfied.

When DN announced his affiliation with GG he was keen to point out that he had no intention of throwing his hat in the ring with another site when he left PS, but GG offered him an opportunity he couldn't turn down.

I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions on whether he had been approached before, during or after his failed negotiations with PS and whether by "opportunity" he meant briefcase full of notes.

I saw his videos on Youtube. I though that he was talking a lot. Therefore, I couldn´t see why he´s got many money although he´s got more money than I.

I think at the moment when PokerStars began to save their finances, cutting rakeback, creating tournaments with increased rake, it is not profitable to pay big money to stars for advertising. all the more conditions for players are getting worse, I do not think that Daniel will agree to advertise this.

Daniel oh Daniel

Yeah, I'm sure they made him an offer he couldn't refuse. New site, old site, doesn't matter. I'm pretty sure that's what it always boils down to.

I heard his parting with Poker Stars was amicable. Guess I'll go check out GG Poker now that I know Daniel is there.:D

GG is growing a lot, i think they offered him a lot of money to be a GG ambassador, GG has a great team of ambassadors, such as fedor holz and Kenney, so i think his cycle with PS was ended as well. Money talks!

I think I made this decision because PokerStars started offering casino games. GGPoker in a short time has become one of the most important poker rooms, an example of this would be the wsop that will be played this year.

GG is going to be neck and neck with Stars by the end of the year. They're already beating party and more pros are being sponsored.

As Daniel Negreanu has transcended the status of being a poker player and become a brand onto himself, I wonder how much actual physical poker that he plays anymore, given all of his business and promotional interests. Given his stature, I wonder if he's entirely sponsored when he plays in tournaments and cash games. I wonder if some tournaments pay him to simply play at their tournament.

You 've just copied the names of team pokerstars pro. :D Yes they are great players but don't have any clue at the very big tournaments like 25000$ buy-in and so on.

In my opinion good reputation is so important in companies like this. Daniel is the guy whos presence can be a challange for others, but not he is the only one who controlls poker life, as you probably wanted to mention.

So his loss easily can be acceptable for PS, but may light you up to try GG but mostly likely you still remaining a PS player if you were.

I read that GG has massive presence and financial backing in Asia and has the means to make things as big as they want. I watched a stream with him where he played a tourney and although they ban HUDs they have their own version all can use and they even have their own Daniel Negreanu emojis so they are clearly making him the big cheese of the site. It worked for me though as I was interested in clicking the link simply because he was on it, I had never heard of GG being away from poker for a decade.

I was going to choose GG poker as my new site but only changed my mind when I read (possibly on here) that the software does not flash yellow on the start bar and come to the front when it is your turn which is a no go as I often read the net while playing.

GGPoker has entered the world of online poker hard and is gaining space in poker every day. In my opinion the PS is still the best but until 2022 I don't know how they will be.

My guess it that Negreanu didn't like the direction pokerstars was going, focusing more on casino style games and just building up the bottom line for shareholders

GGPoker on the other hand is an up and coming room which is focused on players and on poker. They have great software and are doing lots of innovative things that will likely see them as the #1 poker room in less than a couple of years.

Maybe he felt like stars was a sinking ship and it was time to hop off the boat to start fresh with something that had more potential for the future.

That's my guess :D

The fish is looking for where deeper people where it is better. Apparently GGPoker offered more favorable terms of cooperation.

DNegs probably left Pokerstars for more than one reason. Money ? OK. Wanting to have greater influence on a newer site ? Sure, why not ? Why did Mike Sexton leave WPT for party poker ?

One thing that I like about GG Poker is how you look at your cards. It seems to be more like squeezing your cards in a live setting...adds a little fun to playing online.

GGPoker is taking up space in the seario in online poker. PokerStars is leaving to be desired.
