I'm going to assume he's a card mechanic. If you going to play in live games. You should become a mechanic yourself. Not so you can cheat, but to make sure you're not cheated or, someone's not cheating at your home game. Though it should've been obvious right away, by the way the held the deck of cards.

Mot much you can do with that if the cards are out of siight.

Oil and plumage on him.
It's a trully sad story. Some ppl just don't get it, it's not everything about the money or just he is so desperate in need for cash. I never wanted to be involved in something like that even my friends offered me. I play poker for fun but I love when I cash some nice prize, still what joy you have if you cheat? After those two friends approached me with those offers I started to watch them with a different eyes, because it was also the home game. Sad and big shame on your friend. Make a distance from him, you don't need a so called friend without honor.

I would never let anyone put the deck in their lap,or under the table..make a rule that the deck must be visable to everyone at all times.Thats just a standing rule with me...or I don't play.

A true mechanic never takes the deck out of your site. The mechanic doesn't have to. You guys must not know too much about how to manipulate a deck of cards in plain sight. I do I am a mechanic.

The best thing to do is to hire a dealer that way nobody touches the cards, but the ones your playing.

We always pass the deal around...did nobody think it was odd he was so lucky when he was the dealer???? Should have been super obvious very early. Its harder to catch when they throwing the win to a partner. Be vigilant and it is hard to cheat u, pay attention-if the cards go out of your sight, set the person straight and re-cut. It is shocking what you can get away with when people are in a 'friendly' game and or drinking...we would jokingly trade cards before folding, nobody said a word, could have played them. If someone got caught cheating for real in one of our games, it would be VERY ugly, ass kicking ugly, friend or no friend.

As a rule I will not play real money with anyone who I even suspect is a mechanic, just mind boggling what those guys can do with cards, even when u know they are doing it.

Hire a dealer? Will that cost a lot?

I hear that the dealers in casinos are pretty well paid.

Heres what me and my friends do:

ONLY 1 DECK
Shuffle and player to your right cuts
Dealers hands dont leave table during hand
p.s. we play in a non-heated garage so hands are usually too cold to make fancy maneuvers haha

Yep. A cut card on the bottom and cards on the table at all times and your problems are solved.

No with home games most will just get someone who knows the game and how to deal. They work for tips.

I don't understand how he gets away with it, how do you not see someone take the deck off the table and not sense that something is up?
