I prefer tournament for sure, at the beginning your allready ready to loose your money and not more.
The problem for me in the cashgame is you can loose all your benefit in 1 hands if you play against a richman....even if you focus on 1 opponent , he can cashout and go play in another table( with your money he took you the hands before leaving....) so for me its more profitable to play tournament...:heeeellll
I like playing in tournaments it is so fun and challenging just to get to the final table. The variance is huge that's the disadvantage of this kind of game.
I think it depends on the person and the play style.
Tournament play can bring you a huge jackpot if you run well and play a solid tournament throughout. Can’t make many mistakes and need to manage bankroll well to make the cash. Tournaments are also a fun time to play as well!
Cash games are another great option! If you are a solid player and choose tables that are at your skill level or below, you can be very profitable! If you are at a table with no action or at a table with local pros that are above your level than you need to look for another table in the poker room to play. Don’t sit a table that you aren’t comfortable playing at!
I personally prefer cash games over tournaments but I play in both because both Ofer a different side of poker!
I think both are interesting games and very different to play at the same time. When I don't have that much time to play a tournament, I prefer to cash in a couple of hands and fold when I can. But between the two, I prefer to play tournaments to be able to generate a better strategy throughout it and better study the rivals.
I think tournaments are better. I like the strategy of a tournament. I play cash as well but I think there is to much variability in the play at a cash table.
In my opinion there is a big difference in strategy with tourneys and cash games. In cash games the blind amount never goes up. You can rebuy as much as you want. In tournaments the blinds increase every 15-30 minutes. There may be a limited rebuy period and thats it. So there is a strategy of picking spots, accumulating chips. I can tell when a cash player joins a tourney and hasn't played one before. He can lose chips quickly. I prefer tourneys they aren't pure GTO like cash can be. I find myself picking spots carefully and keeping my eye on the fact that I can't cash out anytime and win anything. The prize money is at the end of the evening with those who survived with the most chips. PErsonally I love the challgence of tourneys
Both can be profitable but its gets you there in different ways. You can walk into a casino with a $500 and play cash and make a nice profit a lot of nights. On a superb night you may win 2 or maybe even 3K if really lucky. You could win a wsop tournament with a buy in of $400.00 and win over $451,000.00.
It depends on the situation at the moment. Sometimes I don't have a couple of dollars to enter the tournament, then I go to the Kzsh tables and if I'm lucky I play the necessary buy-in. However, tournament poker is my priority.
i personally prefer a live cash game. See if you go and sit at a casino no limit table and grind on the weekend, friday and saturday should produce a good number of drunk recreational players who love to give thier money away.
I prefer tournaments. For some reason cash games feel like work and the tourneys have a more exciting feel tot them.
Maybe it’s because for a cash game, if you win, you’re a winner of one table. For a MTT you’re a winner of however many tables there are. Who knows? Both are fun, of course.
In general I like both, but sometimes I feel better in tournaments and other times in cash games. And I think that's why it goes, that you play that where you feel good at
In MTT, there is less play with a deep stack and less play with the same opponents. In addition to a very high skill, an MTT player needs a lot of luck in addition to a very high skill to make a significant jump in income. I think that luck depends less on cash.
I prefer tournaments. Part of it is the possibility of big payoff with a small investment. But I also like the fact that you go to different tables where you can play your game without them knowing what you’re doing.
Cash play seems like too much work to me and most of us are in this for fun.
