I am still playing only freerolls trying to build bankroll and start playing SNGs. Being recreational player and not having too much free time to play makes this process slow. Once i get enough money to start playing SNGs i plan to just follow the general bankroll management rules and see how it goes.

The first question was when do I move up in buy in? I move up when I feel like I am beating the stakes that I am playing in, and have at least 30 buy ins for (Cash) 50 buy ins for (Tournaments) for example, I was beating 300 NL and playing $65 tournaments pretty consistently to where I had around $30,000 bankroll so I moved to 1000 NL while also playing a lot of series that had buy ins as much as $365. When I didn't do as well at 1000 NL and took about a $20,000 loss I went back down to 300 NL. I don't ever pay myself through my poker bankroll.. My bankroll is just that a poker bankroll. I pay for things out of my "life roll" I do not keep my entire bankroll on the sites. I keep my bankroll on Coinbase, and only make deposits if I want to play a certain tournament series. and keep about 500 on there for cash games.

Terminology question - what do you mean by 300 NL? $300 buy in? ie. 3-6NL? 5-10NL?

300 NL would be $1.00 / $3.00 in most places 100bb or Max buy in. In your example 10 NL would be a game where the blinds are.... (small blind 5 cents.. big blind 10 cents)

My way to manage my bankroll is to break it into segments based on buy-in. My ITM is about 25.3% and my ROI is 0.2%. What does that mean? That I do not have enough profit to draw. That is, I keep my bankroll on the site.
