I think we all were a little sick of Hevad Khan's crazy out burst last year... at the wsop main event...

his victory dance after he knocked out a player... or won a big pot...

I don't think it is called for... it's just bad sportsmanship... am surprised nobody punched the guy in the face...

what do you think?

Just goes to show that all it takes to get on TV is your dignity and self-respect. I'm all for having fun, but Khan is just an idiot. I'd be embarrassed to be associated with him in any way.

I think it's fine if players want to have fun, but it's a little rude to be dancing when you knock somebody out. Hevad Khan's a jerk sometimes, but it's his right and he'll do whatever he wants. After all, there's no such thing as bad publicity.

It could get annoying playing him, but I'd rather play with him than alot of the jackasses and sourpusses that only have something negative to say.

Personally, I thought his antics were the highlight of the main event that year.

Of course, I was watching at home, and not sitting across from him. :D

He's just having fun, he's not directly picking someone to put them off their game, or abusing anyone like Phil Hellmuth does for example, he was just having fun, so i didn't mind it. He also only did it after hands and never during a hand so it shouldn't effect anyone anyway

The guy is an idiot, and somehow he figured that the bigger idiot he is, the more it will put people on tilt to his advantage.

Some players get in their opponents head with shrewd play, some with aggresion, some by being impossible to predict.

Khan does it by acting like an ass.

i think its good to see them celebrate and not be so serious all the time. i wouldnt want to see T.O. score a touchdown and just hand the ball to the ref, i like to see them celebrate and it reminds me that some of them arent just playing for the money, they really do want to win.

I watched him in a game on Stars where various players called Hevad all kind of names and he didn't respond at all - just busted one loudmouth after another. I thought that took more restraint that I have and gave me some respect for him.

During the WSOP I thought his "antics" were an expression of winning rather than directed at the opposition - of course it's easy for me to say because he didn't bust me out of the tournament. I have a little more respect for that and the fact that it was face to face. I believe that much of the smart-aleck, unnecessarily combative and derisive comments you read on the internet are by cowards who wouldn't have the nerve to make a peep in person. The reason I say that is that much of these comments are not proportional to the statement being "addressed" and as such they take on the "hey look at what I'm saying" tone.

The player who struck me the most (I don't remember his name) was the player kinda young guy, his parents where with him and he kept making all kind of smart-ass comments to opposing players. I swear I'm just immature to have kicked his ass for sure - he was way over the top.

Sitting at home watching him I have to say it was very entertaining. But if I were at a card game where the stakes were as high as they were at the "07" WSOP???? Then I would be be pissed......wether it was me who he beat or not.... I think it was very disrespectful for him to gloat at the table like that and showed a lack of poker ettiquet.

Havad Khan, Phil helmuth, Tony G, the entertainers of poker IMHO.
I enjoy watching these players play and would love to see these three at the same table together.

He says poker shouldn't be so serious and people should be happy and not just staring at their cards and not saying anything, but thats when he's winning. When he's losing, he's not jumping around and acting like an idiot.

ROFL - way to stay on top of the issues :D

This happened over a year ago now. The WSOP now has the 'Hevad Kahn' rule discouraging "excessive celebration" and by all accounts he was quite well behaved this year. FWIW, he was pretty quiet at last year's final table too.

Personally I don't see the problem with it. There are certainly worse offenders. And no matter what anyone might say, ESPN loves this stuff - they live for the "excessive celebration", Phil Laak haming it up, Phil Hellmuth or Mike Matusow blowing up and even Humberto and that damn chark. Without it poker would be an even more boring television sport.

Do you know how tall and overall huge hevad kahn is? Hes pretty imposing, I wouldnt fight him.

Personally, I thought his antics were the highlight of the main event that year.

Of course, I was watching at home, and not sitting across from him. :D

It was by far the most entertaining thing about the entire tournament.

I laugh so hard everytime I see him in the video clips on youtube, he is not only an awesome tournament player, but he puts alot of eneergy into the game and has alot of funny ass 1 liners.

REDBULL BULLDOZER!!!!

Hevad kahn is the shiiiitttt!

The best line I ever heard about a touchdown came from Jerry Rice, he said you shuold act like you've been there before.

Yea people should have their fun and all that but he was clearly doing it for the camera time. I read a few weeks ago that they added some new rule about celebrating...

Found it for ya :)

As for the new anti-celebratory decree, Rule No. 36 states that "excessive celebration through extended theatrics, inappropriate behavior, or physical actions, gestures, or conduct may be subject to penalty." In addition, "any player that engages a member of the tournament staff during the celebration or utilizes any property of Harrah's will be penalized… Harrah's property includes but is not limited to chairs, tournament tables, and stanchions."
Harrah's makes slight adjustments to WSOP rules

not much but its start i reckon :/
