Has anyone else seen the new electronic poker tables?

Are They Rigged?

Since I was already skeptical about online poker, I asked a floor manager at the casino about the new electronic poker tables. He assured me that they need to pass the same strict certification as other machines. Does that mean the odds are not stacked in favour of the casinos?
:ah4:
As for experiencing the feel of real cards and chips, remember that people thought chatting on a computer would not catch on since people would miss the face to face. Look how chat room, blogs and bulleting boards have grown. I suspect the same thing will happen with the poker tables.

Some people mentioned pokerpro but the machine I played on was called pokermate. From what I saw online, both machines appear similar.
Can anyone who has tried both tell me how they compare?

That's the beauty of poker - there's no need for the house to stack the game in its favour, because they win every hand via rake.

First of all, I dont appreciate being called a liar AlienGenius. I won money on a poker site (which will remain nameless) , cashed out and never saw my money! I will allow that the $$ may have gotten lost, but either way I won and should have got my money! Electronic poker tables allow me to cash-in and out without problems!

There is a regulation in place prohibiting Internet gambling. Why else would states like Nevada be trying to fight the legislation? If you found a loophole then I applaud you. :deal:

As for the electronic tables themselves, I challenge anyone who has actually tried them to post a reply. I am able to play many more hands and I get lots of interaction. The tables I played were buzzing and I suspect as the machines are adopted, they will be the focal point of any casino.

I haven't tried them because the 3 times I was at the casino and saw them.....they all sat empty while the REAL poker tables had a wait.....why would ANYONE go to a casino to play "online" poker?

Because it's not online poker - it's live poker, just with the bits that slow the game up removed.

Personally, I enjoy the bits that slow the game up so it doesn't really appeal to me, but I can see why it might to others.

Yeah, with more discussions of rigged tables. It's completely pointless. The only person this benefits is the casino, because they don't have to buy decks or pay dealers, and personally I don't care about the casino. They make enough money as it is.

If you don't have real cards with real chips and a real dealer, it's not real live poker. It's honestly just stupid. If you want to remove the slow parts then play online.

It does have some benefits for players - more hands per hour, and lower tournament entry fees. In our local, they're also using them to provide games like Omaha, which they often wouldn't bother with otherwise, and also use them to provide games lower than $1/$2, which is where the traditional live tables start.

Like I said, I don't like them personally, but there are benefits for those who do.

I'll admit that that is pretty intriguing (the micro limits part), but unless my friends are heading to Soaring Eagle and I'm broke, I doubt I'll bever use it. I'm just not excited about reading the eventual threads about how these tables are rigged :(

LOL - yeah, it would be extremely tedious if we started getting two streams of rigged threads...
