How many games are there that actually rely on 100% luck? I'm not aware of many unless you are in a room filled with slot machines. People who know little of poker likely see the 'luck' value being the most significant factor of a winning poker hand, poker game or poker player. Those who are steadfast in their mindset that poker is all luck, simply do not play the game or know very little about the game.

There is always an element of Luck involved, but in general Poker is a strategic game, a game of skill, the biggest part of that skill is being the last man standing, and ultimately winning the game, just as in a game of Chess!
You could say there is no luck involved in playing Chess, but if your opponent slips up and makes one mistake and lets you take advantage over him then it's possible to push him around the board and snap up all his pieces. That is where your Luck comes from!

I think poker is of course a game of strategy and be skilled is very important. But luck is part of the game as well. The question is which part : I would say about 35% in MTTs where the variance is very high and you need a little bit luck to get to the victory. In cash game or SNG the part of luck is less important.
And of course in the long run, luck (good or bad) does not make the difference, skills are the key.
