My bad... 0 for 4 in the last two days

Try getting 0 for 100, then ill be shocked.

Or 0 for 1000!

Near statistically impossible...but....

Seriously, just because aces lose 4 times it means one of 2 things. You are either playing them wrong/badly. Or you are just running bad.

One thing I found that helped me a lot was to just sit out the first 45 mins. to an hour. It gives a lot of those idiots a chance to donk off their chips and then you can play a more serious game against them. Of course you still have to watch for them and when you find yourself in a hand with them I try to keep the pots moderate that way if I do loose with a good hand at least I am still in and can just avoid pots with them as I build my chips back up.

I agree this is my current strategy - but then soem idiot who got lucky with a ton of chips will go all in no matter what they have - for example - I just got chopped up with a top flop pair of kings with a queen kicker - guy had 80k in chip sand called with an ace high - caught it on the turn - wtf? ace high in the last 100 players? sick

Yes I feel at most times it is rigged and makes me so upset.
If people all played good cards I think we could seriously have a good poker game! =)

I think these sites reward the donkeys by letting them catch chasing - they are kamikaze winners - makes it really tough to stick it out for reals - hard to go into a five hour investment of time with a wreckless ending like it seems to always play out to be - bleh!

how can you win in these tournaments ?when you have idiots going all in with crap and keep sucking out.i lost yesterday night having pocket rockets 2 a guy who had 27 offsuit.things like this make you want a quit playing.it seems rigged.

i know how you feel, its almost like when you are playing online, you get the worst suckouts. the thing is that there are soooo many hands being played so fast online, it feels rigged because you focus on those losing hands more rather than the "normal" hands play out the "textbook" way

Playing angianst Idiots can be scary.

Last night I played agianst a guy on full tillt who went all in on every single hand an fluctuated but eventually got up to about 11k in the first five minutes. The scary thing is that when you call them and you've got a good hand there is no telling what they are holding. I eventually took a majority of his stack with pocket kings and Ace Queen but like thats been pointed out he beat some of those types of hands with terrible cards and he also had a few hands that he won with some pretty good cards himself. I guess you got some guys who just love to flip a coin, or more likely are just idiots.:icon_scra

In Harrington's book, he says something that I like. Actually he says it not for online game but it is applicable I guess. You have pocket pair and flop hits, you have a set now. The guy before you raises and you raise all-in. He calls. He has a bigger set. Harrington says, "Accept the fact that it wasn't not your tourney, get prepared for the next one." You have AA and he has 74s. You go all-in, he calls. And he wins. You can do nothing except smilin a bitter smile. But hope that you'll play another tourney with that donkey somewhere and he'll make the same play. Coz in the long turn, you'll absolutely take his money.

nice point tennkid. Absolutely aggreing with you. But if the blinds get bigger and your M value decreases. It kind of comes to that point.

Everytime, everywhere you find a lot of donks, they only play with her luck as with strategy. Because that the people thinks that poker is no strategy, than a luckplay. Its a shame that the donks often win games and tournaments with that kind of play. When you have a strategy where you can't loose against that kind of players, please tell me

Well Bluestone, I would have to flatly disagree that donks "often" win tournaments. Certainly not anything larger than STT's anyway. I've never seen a total donk 3 hours into a tournament. We've already covered the strategy that won't lose against donkeys most of the time, but of course there's no strategy that can't.

Its a tough break but no hand is supposed to always win. Although frustrating, thats part of poker and you have to deal with it.

if it was in freeroll u shouldnt be suprised. most go into them with a crappy attitude (just a freeroll) and just roll the dice. i call em bingo players. u just have to try to avoid them.

you need to play like a donkey to beat a donkey. you cant play regular poker online. I found that out the hard way. fish for flushes!, donk that straight on the river. make 2 7 off your best friend. its the only way to win. I have played live poker in hard rock and the dog tracks for years and never saw the crap that I see online. sad fact...you must become a donkey to win.
Wow you don't really believe this advice do you ?????

As a donk myself, here's a hint....if you don't want to play against someone going all in with a 2-7, play someone with something on the line...i.e., no freerolls. Of course you don't see people play like this in a casino. It's because there aren't freerolls in a casino (not the one's i've seen), so if someone did that, its costing them real money (even if they do win it 10% of the time, or wutev).
Beating bad players is the best way to go, as most people beat on me.
And even though i can often play loose to the flop, and sometimes take down a conservative player with KK or AA, the fact is, that strategy costs me tons of chips, until i get the right hand that works out. And like ferguson says in his 10,000 blog, if you play tight heads up, only playing top cards, it won't matter if you double up with AA, because you will have already fallen behind. Same is true with us donks, we may win once in a while, but its a guaranteed loss down the road.
