poker games or any type of casino games were unpredictable might as well know your limit. If you are enjoying yourself and wants to continue then go ahead but always know when to stop.

This was my biggest question when playing cash game poker always.
Someone told me something when i was at a table that stuck with me to this day, must have been something like 7 years ago.
Whenever you feel the cards turning, Thats when its time for you to go.
Personally, my cue is whenever Either
1) The value on the table has gone away, (ie the mark left) or there are no longer any players you think you'll be able to make money off of without hitting cards continuously.
If they seem to all be solid players without over investing or making bad plays and you've been there awhile and aren't stuck (negative to what you bought in for) Then get up and walk away, now is a good time
2) The cards which you have been hitting are suddenly not holding up (this is what i was told).
If you for example have been hitting straights and flushes and suddenly end up turning a flush and 2 people have higher flushes, this might be a sign.
Or for example, if you flop or turn the nut hand and by the river you end up losing to someone w a set or a draw, then this is probably a sign you should dip out.
This has helped me so much in being profitable and its what i exercise to this day

Furthermore, if you are running well, DO NOT LEAVE THE TABLE! it doesn't happen everyday and you need to make as much as possible, i have shut down plenty of tables when running well, but like i said, the cards can always turn. In the event that they dont turn and you continue to run good, stay there 10 - 20 - 48 - even 60 hours if you can. Thats advice from most top pros, dont get up if you are running well, however in the instance that it goes longer than a day, DONT PLAY TIRED! Its the equivalent to driving tired, or driving drunk, or playing drunk... just dont do it. Gl

The main issue here is that your results in any individual session of poker are absolutely meaningless in terms of your long term results.
So whether you are up 3 buyins or down 3 buyins makes absolutely no difference at all. If you lose all 3 or win 5 more it still makes no difference at all.
You should only leave the table for two reasons.
1. You are running bad and feeling tilted.
2. You are tired and don't feel like playing anymore.
