Before black Friday, I was playing a good mix of 25NL-50NL. I lost a lot of money with Full Tilt (maybe I'll get that back), a few hundred on Absolute, and I got my money back from pokerstars, but I never put any of that back online. I also took about $2k off of PokerNordica (a Merge site) just to reduce my exposure if they were shut down.

PokerNordica closed, for other reasons, so I eventually took the rest off of there. In December, Bovada was offering $10 free (no deposit) as a promotion. I have never deposited, so I jumped on that. I have currently run it up to almost $400. I am playing 10NL most of the time (5NL if there are some really wild tables). I want to have at least $750 before I go up to 25NL, so I am stuck here for a while.

Live, I usually play $1/$2NL. I have played as high as $3/$6 (when it was the only game running on a casino cruise).

wasnt a typo
A shallow 10/20 roll would be 40k, plus 2kNL is basically nosebleed stakes online (it's the higher end of amateur play live). I don't think there's anyone who'd consider 2kNL online small potatoes.

Is there even anyone who plays JUST 10kNL? Is there enough action up there?

Anyway, the important bit there was the fact you need at least 40k to have a 2kNL roll without being under-rolled (and even that's marginal). I somehow think someone with enough pocket cash to consider leaving 40 grand lying around on poker forums a "safe minimum" would find a paid forum rather than hang around with us micro grinders. :D

I legit play 5/10+ and sit with 5k+ so no, that is not the case.

I play as high as 1kNL (and have won at every limit) and I've been posting on the Zynga forums for years. 1500ish posts or something. Whatever the reasons someone chooses to post on a poker forum, learning how to play better isn't always the motivation. Heh.
