Alot of times for me if I go on TILT it might just be game over for that and possibly any surrounding tournaments I play in as well, but unlike pinball TILT in poker doesn't mean you've shaken the table YET! It just means you really really want to. So I've decided to make a thread with my personal best tactic for soothing the maniacwithamachinegunthatshootsallourchipsattheopponents inside of us. I would also like everyone to post methods to the madness as well.
First thing to realize is that you have a problem and I'm not talking about being on tilt.... WE ALL HAVE THIS PROBLEM I'M GOING TO MENTION!!! That problem is that we have an addiction... a terrible addiction... my friends we are addicted to chips lots and lots of poker chips virtual or real. Yeah they are just a means to an end, but while your in that tourney those chips are heroin and if you don't get your fix you feel like dying. Tilting is just your junkie paranoia telling you if you don't do something drastic your <tournament> life is over and if you cant get your fix when you want it then you don't care if you lose it all.
Now that you realize your a hopeless chip junkie, when you start coming down off that chip high because a bad beat or stupid move sobered you up. Forget all your reads on people and pretend your a robot that has been programmed by you to play what you think is optimal poker <obviously it may not be the case, but im not suggesting using this to improve your normal game just bring you back to it> and play like that till you feel comfortable with your stack and can start trying to get reads on people again.
Remember the junkie wants the chips no matter how he gets them so if you let him take charge it will usually spell disaster. If you let the robot inside of lead the way, then more often than not your junkie will get his fix.
< BTW the better your math skills the better your robot does I find :icon_thum >
May the deck hit you like meteor.
