Just set a number when you buy in that when you hit you will call good. I sometimes even will go if Im close to it. Not saying hit and run but just hit responsible goals

I f your stack size is makeing you nervous at the very least take a break. I would recomend a 10 to 15 minute break every couple of hours to stretch your legs and relax with no decisions to make. I'm a cash game mtt er and average 2500 to 5000 hands a day but never more than 5000 a day.

I just don't understand why people are saying to leave. Why would you ever leave a game if it's good? And what's the difference between staying and leaving to start a new table? Most online games i play have 100-150 effective stack sizes. I guess I have such a tough time because I play live more than online. Live I've played in games with 400-500BB effective, it would be a disaster to leave the game if it was good. Now that you have a chance to make a lot of money. Isn't Our goal to get as many chips as well possible?

What is important is how deep the effective stacks are. If you have won a ton of money or just a little you should look around the table and see how deep are the effective stacks. If you got 500 and see others having 500 or more and you feel frustrated or tired you should leave and return the next day even if you think the game is good. One wrong call/move with deep effective stacks and you could lose it all in one hand. Also you got to be aware how you play AK when the effective stacks are deep. Also when the effective stacks are deep before you make any serious money with any pair from 22 to including KK is when you flop a set. Especially the AKo and AQo are very vulnerable to deep stacks.

was thinking of posting a question similar and found this post. nice :)
If you always ending up losing when your stack when it gets to a certain point, you
have a leak.
Sounds like you've already identified your leak. You can either work on fixing it or set a limit and stick to it or keep losing your chips.
Im working on the same issue. At the present when I get that feeling of worry. I leave. Its the same feel as being at a game my BR doesn't support.
Im hoping as my BR grows that feeling will gradually diminish. Also working on my deep stack play.
Hope this helps. Ty for the post. It has helped me

I leave when I feel like I'm being exploited by the good regs at the table; OR I leave when I start to get bored or tired (I start making dumb decisions).

Usually it's option #2. If I'm getting exploited by the solid regular players, I try to adjust my game to the opposite of what they expect of me. Sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn't work. Like once a solid really aggressive player kept raising and c-betting so I raised him a huge amount on the flop with complete air. He thought about it and folded.

It becomes stressful though playing huge pots OOP against really good players. Honestly if you love your bankroll, the best advice is move to a table with passive players instead of playing a table full of good TAG/LAG players.

Quitting when you are winning and quitting when you are losing takes the same skill set, which can be learned. Tommy Angelo discusses this nicely in his book "The Elements of Poker."

Cheers!

If you double your money you should leave. If the table is loose, you can stay a little bit and play just with good hands or small pots
