You know I actually thought I was a really bad cash game player but I see things in a different light now. I almost always do great in tournaments and when I play cash it's the complete opposite. However a recent session has opened up my eyes to the online cash game community. This is a cheaters paradise. I got multi accounted the other day! One session that I can actually say I was honestly being cheated. With this eye opener I wonder now how many time has something like this happened to me! I don't really know but honestly I don't believe it was only this one time. I almost never win at cash games online. I would say that's very unusual for a knowledgeable player like myself!

Hello!🙋‍♀️💞
I can say that the fact that you are good at playing tournaments, in my opinion, does not mean at all that you are a pro in cash games. 🤔
Cash and tournaments are absolutely 2 different worlds. In my opinion: those who play cash are usually not very good at tournaments, and vice versa. 🤷‍♀️
I didn't understand a bit about multiaccount (it looks like my translator is letting me down again).🤔

There is no way a poker site can prevent players from communicating with each other via phone or instant message.

So unfortunately cheating happens.

I foresaw a similar situation when I played cash tables. Somehow the game didn't really work. I haven't been to these tables in a long time. I was there once in a good plus when the times passed at pokerstars when round hands and promised a good reward to the players on the table of which the anniversary hand will fall. During this time a lot of people played on cash tables. In relation to the moment of simple days on the cash tables, the number of players increased many times and the number of scammers, naturally, in % in relation to normal players, decreased greatly. But here we can say that my game in such cases could be good because players who play cash games a little came to play.

Obviously collusion is easier in cash games or single table SnGs compared to MTTs, because people can choose which table to sit on. But this does not mean, that being cheated is the most likely reason for doing better in tournaments than cash games. As Chica_bonita say, they are very different games, so its entirely possible to be at least decent at one but not very good at the other. Also what are the sample sizes here? There is a lot of variance in poker, so maybe you have just been on a heater in tournaments and a minor downswing in cash games. It should also be noted, that all serious poker sites have ways to detect collusion and multi-accounting. So these ways of cheating are neither as easy or as common, as some people think.

Cash games seems different than MTTs and cheating seems possible as well. Tried few tables and did not work out.

If you are a winning poker tounaments player stick to this format and don't play cash game. Yes there are cheaters out there, but online cash games are tough especially with all the materials and books that became accessible. If you wanna really play cash games try diffrent things like playing on multiple rooms at different limits, diffrents days, try to play only week-ends as there is a lot of recreational players...etc.

You can cheat in any style of game, but I think cash games would be more profitable. Do I think it happens yes. It is too easy to talk to anyone in the world while playing, even another player. Not sure how the poker sites can prevent it, just hope they are trying.

This isn't as true as it used to be, because tournament players are becoming much better at poker... but the poker saying used to be, tournament players grind for days to win the big prize pool, and then lose it back to cash game players.

As far the online cheating... what stakes is this happening at.. 10nl? lol... people who collude, generally don't do it for micro or small stakes.

Well, Poker sites can't prevent Calls & Texts between players so yes it could happen but doesn't mean you should be good at cash games because you're good at MTTs.

I am slightly confused do you mean that you have made several accounts yourself to test whether it is possible to play with multiple accounts? So did you just start cheating yourself? Of course, you can't rule out the possibility that this might be possible on some sites, but then only for a short time because you usually have to verify yourself in order to play on the poker site. And then I also believe that this is only possible on dubious sites. And as has been said before, being good at tournaments doesn't make you a good cash game player. It's the case with me that I have some days where I play better cash games and then meet again where I play tournaments better.

I don't know I'm not an expert player but I have seen a tournament where some players win strangely that may be that they cheat or sometimes they don't cheat:confused:

You would be surprised. Micro and small stakes are where this sort of stuff would be least likely to be noticed and reported. Who cares about a few dollars here and there? But that adds up over time to a tidy profit.

Cash game is a different game. Rake is really a major factor in cash games, and if you aren't adjusting for rake you can easily be a losing player in cash game playing against the same level of skill as in tournaments. Also tournaments require far more short stack skill, whereas cash games are mostly deep stack skill - it may be that you have an excellent short stack game but poor deep stack game.

Keep in mind, tourneys are way softer because of the lottery mentality / attitude of many players. The cash gamers are more skilled in general, maybe thats why you also (me too) find it harder to compete there...

Poker sites can analyze hole cards to see if their play is consistent with independent play or collusion. The most common ways colluders use hole card information is pretty easy to detect statistically.
