Hey, Ive been having good results with this recently and was wondering if I could get some input from you people here.
I know that poker is not a game of strict strategy and always doing something with a certain hand, its more a game of feel, but I feel the formula I have been using lately is very good. Preflop is pretty much raise or fold and the raise is atleast 4x BB. I only play the best hands, AJs and better and I will raise with these hands. If I get rockets or kings I will usually raise a little higher. Maybe 6x BB. With mid to low pairs is the only time I will limp in and hope to catch a set, If I dont hit the set or if there are any overs on the board I will get out. Of course there are some times I dont follow this, depending on my reads on other people. Then when the flop comes, I only bet or raise if I have top pair, very good kicker or better. Ocassionaly I will bluff if I see a weak player make a weak bet but only if it is only me and him in the pot. If I catch the nuts on the flop I will usually slowplay or throw out a small bet in the hopes of getting raised, but if I have a very good hand after the turn, I bet hard and raise harder. Amazing what people are calling me down with. I used to just try to value bet more but I realized that 3/4 of the time they will call a bigger bet anyways.
Well, this is the strategy I have been using for my Low limits NLHE Full 10 person ring game. (.05/.10c blinds).
What do you guys think? Is it stupid to have a strategy like this or is anything flawed with it?
