New to cash games

Hey there, i'm new to this as well!
Tried some slots but i realize i can't stand playing with the random numbers generator, where your skill can affect nothing. If i'm just starting doing it, what poker site suits for the newbie the most? Thanks in advance

I played a few cash games with low values, and what I realized was that there are few good and many bad players, but for those who are amateur like me in the long run one can even win something but the sharks at one time or another will end up swallowing you.

I'd stay away from cash games. They are a high volume quantitative skill structure...that being said others have figured out their is value in cash and they already have established themselves to take that value. e.g highly skilled players, poker fanatics, structure specialists, seating scripts, bots that run forever etc. meanwhile MTTs are uncontrollable and whoever wins wins with luck and significant but not majority skill. It is really easy to get your money preyed on in cash game since it is directly in front of you. If you are Memphis Grind skills and higher play live cash otherwise I would play the biggest MTTs you can find.

When i first spent real money on a game my heart nearly burst out of my chest, playing in a pub game with local group of sharks but as it turned out I've had more luck and money playing live social games than most of the online games since.

heart did the same thing when first real money bet on line and trembling hands cold sweat... hahahlol gone are those days but still get heart flutters when on last table and all in bet...

Hey I just recently started playing cash games online and I was wondering if you had any tips on how to maximize my game. Also is there a really big difference in live & online?

Ah man, it's QUITE a difference from Tournament play.

1. Make sure hand reading skills are on point.

2. Betting is also going to be different as well, especially since there is no clock or pressure to build up chips. You'll need to be a little more. A 3x big raise doesn't do much online. You will get called, and sometimes that is what you want.

3. You're going to have to be mentally tough. You need to constantly think of your opponents ranges, which ties back to number 1.

4. Even if your hand is good, understanding combos is key. You need to be able to determine what hands could beat you.

5. Make sure you understand +EV Even if you think you might be able to complete a hand the EV might not be worth taking the risk.
