10 hours is nothing man!
I imagine shes probs annoyed that you spend alot of the time on the PC (speaking from personal experience ) i used to browse CC/DC then blogs for about 2 hours then maybe play for an hour or 2 then browse forums again so I would only play 2 hours of poker but be on the PC "playing poker" for like 5 hours a go

Do you mean playing 10hrs of poker per week is nothing? Cuz over the year thats like 240000 hands lol

Plus that'd be a minimum, would be subject to change (in my favour) depending on how often she was working week to week. God I hate compromising lol

Like i'm thinkin a nice long grind on a sunday when its fishier, say 5 hrs, then a couple of 2 hr sessions during the week, that gives her all day saturday, and sunday morning, plus a few nights during the week where she's got me all to herself. And I think I can deal with that, 240k hands a year is about twice what I played last year lol

I can fit in forums and blogging at work tbh, so just need to make sure when I sit down at the computer i'm there to play poker rather than chat on skype/browse forums/watch videos lol

I use it to look up opponents, especially multi-tablers and those who appear to be either LAG good or LAG bad.

I'm deciding on volume goals a few days into the month when I see what kind of grind mode I'm in. I want to hit 40k cause that's nothing but hesitant to enter the prop bet for that amount after last month. Started off losing loads and it never stopped so it kinda killed me. I've had a good break though and I'm remotivated. We'll see.

Well he's looser than 100% of the people at 2nl, less aggressive than 98%, and goes to SD 100% of the time. So to answer your question; Call every bet on every hand all the way to the river. Ez game!

Sorry for ranting and starting the new monthly thread off on a downer,

but this thing with the missus is totally ****ing me off and I need to know if i'm just being a **** about things, in my mind the end goal is to do this for a living, giving me freedom to kinda pick my hours in general and be my own boss in a way, so I view the time i'm putting in now at 16/25nl the same as building a new startup business, like obv I enjoy playing, but thats far from the main reason i'm logging on every night, so I think she should support me in that and just accept that long hours need to go in atm, just like they would in a new business, am I being totally selfish and ignorant or is she just being very high maintanence in needing so much attention from me.

I feel atm, like if I end up never making a decent wedge out of this game then I'm gonna resent her for it, whether or not shes the reason. Also, I read a piece in pokerplayer by Jake Cody, and he says an important thing for him is not spending time with negative people and surrounding himself with positive attitudes, which makes a lot of sense, and I feel I am REALLY effected by the mood of people around me, like there's a guy who's so depressive at work, and no matter what mood im in when I come in, he drags me down within about an hour because he's a constant ****in rain cloud, like I shouldnt be going up to try and grind and have my wife hanging around the door moaning at me for not being downstairs spending time with her, like it just stresses me the **** out and is stupidly negative.

Explain it to her and work out an actual SCHEDULE. Include ALL the time you'll need (including forums/reviews). Don't go outside the schedule and actually use the scheduled time to play/review/post. You may need to compromise and give her something extra but it beats paying for a divorce!.

what has made it work for me is communicating my goals, and desires.

Like for instance, we have 2 kids both younger than school age. So we set an amount of time to do family stuff, specifically. Also, most importantly is that she understands you need your own personal time.

all that said we've been married since i was 22 which is 8 years ago now, be relentless about YOUR needs, I need personal time, w/ out negativity. sorry tho marriage is annoying alotta times.

Also, goal is just to have a winning month; prob 20k hands i'm sure.

but gonna go play live today, Grand opening of another poker room, this one is only 10 mins. from home.

As it is, you're probably best off talking with her about it and coming to something you can both happily agree on. Apparently good communication is where it's at, or at least that's what I think my wife was banging on about.

Communication, communication, communication. Before you get pissed at your wife for (gasp!) wanting to spend time with you, actually communicate what it is that you're trying to do. Let her know how important it is to you, while also letting HER know that she's important too.

Look, if you want to know why we as women start bitching and moaning about something that you're doing, it's not necessarily about the thing your doing, but that we feel like we're being left out/shut out/not included/not important. Our feelings get hurt because of it and then the nagging starts, because we feel like what's important to us is not heard by you.

Honestly best thing to do. Is sit down with the wife and figure out what times u can have some poker time. You know like poker nights at the house when you have the poker friends over but instead your playing online . Same thing just make a calender, ok she says I don't mind if u play every night between this time and this time. Or certain days a week . Whatever is going to work out for both of you because it's a give and take relationship. You have to respect what hobbies or whatever you would like to call it you both have. If you love fishing would she let you go so many days a week? Kinda the same thing. If she likes tennis can she play 3 times a week?? Anyway good luck keep talking to her dont be mad at her .
