Yes, you need to play cautiously in cash games or have very good skills or play at not high stakes, I lost a lot of money when I played cash games, now I play tournaments here is a different level of the game, and beginners better not to play cash games with big bets but it's better to learn how to play or play at small bets or tournaments are not expensive or freerolls!

Yes, you are right.

Cash game is more difficult than Mtt game ,if you are not a skill player.

In cash game you need read your opponent's hand more clearly, and make

every street action more exactly.

If you don't have a good bankroll, avoid it. Remember you can lose what you expend to register in a MTT in a single hand. And you will find a lot of regulars, specialized in this kind of game.
Try to play micro stakes sit and go's, specially the 9 players. If you get good results in these games, you maybe can be able to play cash games again. But you'll have to know that is a different kind of game, and you will need to study it before put your money in it.

I have not gone to the cash game for a long time and I do not advise others. One waste of money. It is better to spend this money on the tournament. The benefits will be greater.

CASH GAME

If it's a micro tournament, not to the extent you can win the championship 5 times a week, a cash game can't win.

No way Jose.. For beginners, that book is awesome- it teaches the basics on how to decide what to play, and how to come into a pot. It also teaches how to read the types of players you may be facing. What is more important than this? What did you NOT LIKE about the book? I'd love to hear some examples

I've read over 75 poker books. Trust me... Play Poker Like the Pros by Helmuth is one of the worst of the ones I've read (I actually own it... or did. Pretty sure I gave it away to someone)

It was one of the first I read. I'd seen Phil on TV and thought he was amazing so naturally I assumed his book would be too. When I read it, I thought it was pretty good. Once I'd read some others I discovered how bad it really was. And now that I've read many, mnay more, I would NEVER EVER recommend that book to anyone.... EVER!

Depending upon what format of poker you're interested in, I could give you a list of books to check out.
I won't be reviewing Phil's book in this thread (or any other's) because honestly it is not worth the time (it even took me over 1year to respond to you about it here!)

Why is a cash game a waste of money?

I played tournaments for years... I loved them. I didn't like cash game much at all.
Today it's the opposite for me... & playing in a cashgame is a good investment for me (I typically will have a positive return on this investment.... far more often positive than negative).

It's a different game from tournaments & like anything, it requires study. (imo)

Hi the ALL! To play successfully in the cash games, first of all, what need,
I think: these are "iron nerves", since every decision may be decisive;
secondly, a good bankroll, because dispersion in the cash games may be
a very huge! And thirdly, of course, Lady Luck: without Her -- anywhere!
Since, if in the tournament may to lose only an one buy-in, but in the cash games
may to lose All, for the same time!:cool:
