Deep Stack Play
I am about £100 up on heads up and 6 seated sng, but i just cannot hack cash games at all, i find i am super unlucky at cash which costs me a lot more than if i was unlucky at in a sng game. For example when i have KK i either run into aces or everyone folds, but when i jave aces and they have kings, the river a king.
What is your general strategy for cash games, 6 or 9 seated? Usually i prefer 9 as im not forced into action as much and less 3 betting pre flop on 9 seated.
Im guessing its looking to play in position and abuse position. Any tips would be grateful, i usually play NL5 or NL10
Also what bet sizes as it will be different from sng
Thank you for posting.
No one can do anything about suckouts so ignore losing to a King on the river. You will just drive yourself crazy.
AA everyone folds. The goal with AA is to get one player to call preflop. We must experiment with bet sizing to get that outcome.
Also you mentioned you liked that there is little 3 betting 9 handed. That suggests you are only raising with premium
hands so you have a tell. That may be why everyone folds or only plays premium hands against you.
KK vs AA more often see above.
If we know our opponents are only battling us with AA when we have KK we have to be more careful with KK getting all-in.
Card distribution in 9 handed is very different from 6 handed. That AA becomes more likely.
You do not ever win a 6sng at the 100bb level. You hardly ever win heads up sng at 100bb level.
In cash games you are almost always playing at the 100bb level. Deep stack play allows your opponents to wait for hands and to chase you easily.
When you take flops 3 or 4 handed or 5 handed your
equity goes way down on all of your hand ranges. Which means losing with hands that win for you in sng's.
When there are more players making it to the river the average winning hand will be 2 pair which makes over pairs far weaker for value on the river.
In short handed games players have to play more aggressively with a wider range. Not as likely in cash games. Which means you are less likely to get three streets of value from a worse hand in cash games.
If you are playing opponents with HUDs the HUD gathers way more data on you in cash games.
Some starting points for you to build a strategy around.
Hope this helps.
