A lot of decisions to make this month about poker for next year. Not sure which site I will give my business to next year. I moved to full tilt about 6 months ago because of better rakeback, but now under the new system I think stars maybe the better option. I sort of hate Iron man because I usually don't have the time to grind all month, but then again Stars supernova VIP may be a bit of a stretch to make. Decisions, decisions. Can anyone give me a general idea of how many hands I would need to make supernova at NL 25? I think 2+2 may have a thread but I can't seem to find it. Am I allowed to ask for somebody to post a link. Thanks

I started off aiming for 100 points but didnt realise the day was just about over on the first day and ended with 93 so gave up, but I had about 2300 hands just to get that, and I am pretty loose, a vpip of 18 or so... so I think about 2500 hands would get it safely

I really dont like to see people complaining in a cash game thread unless they are 50BI below ev or something that indicates prolonged run bad. This is not your personal bbv. Just go into bbv and make a thread instead of posting here fwiw. This goes for everybody posting, I lost 6 buyiins today. I run like shit etc etc

Although I did brag about my 5 buy-in day here before haha, first session of the month so I'll give myself a pass. The complaining that goes on here is pretty standard and if it upsets you enough to post after losing 10 buy-ins then you should think about continuing with this game.

TBH if someone want's to post a beat here and have a bit of a rant its completely fine by me. Better than making a thread about it tbh. If it lets you blow off steam then great.

But it is a drag on a thread if every few posts someone rants about losing 3 buyins and how they run worse than anybody/ dont see the end of this run bad/ w/e. I obviously understand what you are saying but this is a cash game thread(which I guess has to deal with beats/brags/strat etc) not a complain about the last 2 buyins I lost.

Well, with threads like this there will always be posts that complain of 'I run so bad yadayada'
It doesn't bother me too much, but what I would like to see by anyone who thinks they run bad is at least some understanding of variance.
Variance, even for some pretty decent players who win at a decent clip, can be so brutal! Be prepared to run worse than you could ever imagine and then some. And whilst the hobby/recreational player may complain at being 3 or 4 BI's under ev, you have to realise that there are players who are running at like 30/40 or 50+ buy ins under EV. Not only that there are players that don't really suffer that much with all in EV, but are coolered/set up on a regular basis that their perceived run bad never even shows up as all in ev. It can have such a dramatic affect on you that sometimes question if online poker is rogged. But that is just ignorance of variance. Look at the variance simulators that are posted in various forums and appreciate that someone who wins at 2ptbb can have some wicked run bad over a pretty decent sample. And for the majority of players who read forums such as this, you will never reach the long run! So it's most likely that you think you're a winning player when in reality you're just on a 20k/30k/50k heater or whatever.
Anyways, I'm sure we'll all post our run bad moments, and sometimes it's good to do that as you can let off steam, and if you're thick skinned like myself/enty we can take the piss out of each other. But please have some respect for Variance dudes.
