For hold em’, 9+ players is actual poker. 6-max is a lesser card game for those who get bored easily and/or need action to stay interested. You know, like millennials and addicts.

I personally like to play at 6 player tables as opposed to 9 players. My main reason for this is the game is easier to follow, you can get a feel for those your playing against and sometimes read them by how they are playing. the more players the harder it is to do that. also the more players your playing against at one time, the more of a chance of getting out drawn.
