I think you played it well its unlucky that he flops a set. It is a good board for kings.

You can not avoid losing to sets. You just need to make sure, you are not losing to much. In a 3-bet pot, where you only started with 50BB, the money has to go in, so this is completely fine. Your 3-bet was to small though. By going to at least 21c you get more value and cut down further on his implied odds. You still get stacked, when he hit his set, but you win 21c rather than just 18c, when he miss and fold on the flop.

That's completelly normal and theres nothing to do about, maybe just bet a bit more on pre-flop if you want to play against less players. Just be calm and keep playing without tilting, hands like that happens everyday to a bunch of players here.

Hello there pawelmad9, thank you for sharing your hand.
First of all, I don't know how to play short stack strategy at cash tables.
Having said that, because you have only 50 BB of stack size you are already commited with your pocket pairs, TPTK, TP2K, TP3K, 2PTK, etc.
In a situation like this there was nothing else to do, unless you had 100 BB effective stack.
Famous cooler, have a nice day!

First bad thing: mid and shortstacking.
Second: too many players in the pot. Small stakes you shouldnt care about balance and being unpredictable, raise huge, go all in. You think people wont call with 66 or AK? They will. Tilt is everywhere. Ive seen bad things NL50 and even highstakes, people donkbetting all in with 22 or calling all ins with AQ. So stupid. Provoke stupidity.
When you play KK normally, checkcalling is often the best thing. You get information out of all those passive players like this with the set through their transparent bet sizing. All in raise on turn is a big mistake most players do with premium overpairs, too late, especially multiway, especially when theres a player behind you. Dont do this. Ace on river is fatal, not to mention all these stupid 2pairs until river that called. I assume you are fullstacked cause short- and midstacking is for children.

If loosing is normal, i agree with the comments here, cause most people lose and then give others in forums advice how to lose. The good players usually dont give advice but I dont care.

Have a nice day, Panther;)

Playing passively with strong hands will miss heaps of value from people, who call to much, which is nearly everyone at 2NL. It will also increase the risk, you get drawn out on. If you never value own yourself against a better hand, you are not betting enough for value. They will also call here with QQ, JX, TT, 99, draws or pure A high, if they are on tilt.

Actually playing with a shorter stack was an advantage in this particular situation. With 50BB Hero is never making a mistake by stacking off his overpair in a 3-bet pot. However with 100BB stacks, Hero either lose twice as much, or he has to make a tough fold. Not against buying in for 100BB, I always do that myself. But just saying :)
