I dare you to just play and not check your stats for a full week (for starters). Really when you think about it checking where you are just puts extra pressure on you especially if well up or down. Just focus on each hand, you'll know roughly how well you are doing anyway.
Happy new year poker brother.

what figaro said. 341 hands is pretty much a small sample of hands to say the least and 85bb/100 can change into -50bb/100 in the next 341 hands.
Try giving your self a hand amount or time not to check graphs/winrate. After all there is a reason why people brag about sertain winrate after 300K hands+
Happy new year =)

Happy new year poker brother.

happy new year to you 2.

i understand about not checking but its part of my game somewhat each session. Quitting sessions when things start going sour or downward.

If i play towards deadlines like saying im going to play 90mins and thats it everyday just isnt optimal or realistic.

somedays i could be tired and i hit bad playing quicker so realistically quitting when losing is best. The day when im in the zone and running well i should play until i cant play no more and maximize my winnings.

this is why having my winrate in the hud is somewhat a middle ground here. I can avoid graph and amount ive won but also can see if im up or if something is up. If winrates down i can then have a break and analyze my hands and see if its bad or good play

Todays session was +$12.63 at 70bb/100 over 894 hands.

We finished the session this time due to things not going our way, we were definetly still playing good perhaps could argue to keep going but there is distractions about.

Anyway below the graph you will see that one of the big drops towards the end we had 88 in a flop 8AA board. Was looking great and we trapped our guy, but another A came out, I had him solely on AK or AQ... we raised him during the hand and he wouldn't have called otherwise. Another A came out and well it was over. Unless he somehow bluffed us, we were deepstacked. But we were easily beat even from his bluffish hands now, i'll post the hand below.

ALSO LET ME KNOW WHAT GRAPH AND STATS YOU WANT FIG.. if that's okay :) cause I appreciate your advice, and I don't like taking too much advice from multiple people and it's much easier to listen to 1 than 10.

below was some hands hit me towards end of the session. He could've easily had AA KK in the 33 hand.

The JJ hand where you said you bet to protect your hand, I'm not sure what your getting protection from? I think I would bet smaller to get any sort of value from 10x or some lower pair. If villain was floating with Ace high then we are losing, if they were drawing to a flush we are dead. I think I would check and the player would usually play their hand pretty face up on the river.

Also the JJ v 99 hand was surprising due to the villains stats. So bad.

was hoping to end the hand because if he hadnt got a flush or ace its hard for him to continue and even an ace would be alarmed

JJ vs 99 hand

1. stats of villain can distract us
2. if you create different lines of attack you will see opponents making more mistakes.
3.even good 2nl players are bad or they would be up in stakes. we all have our problems

if you think about this a bit perhaps the following

perhaps villain couldve hero called before and won
he got bluffed off and now gets sticky
or hes tired and autopiloting in spew mode

I totall agree with you on the JJ 99 hand it's just very odd. I play 2NL and see some really odd stuff coming from people who have stats that would usually indicate that they are thinking preflop. But then they do something like this where all they're hoping for is that your bluffing with worse.

I can see how w are protecting from something like KQ, but in that case I think betting smaller would accomplish the same goal.

So ill celebrate finishing the session at -$11 and not more.. probably best thing to improve the loss is quit the session with less hands. didnt tilt but i did notice my aggression stat was down slightly and some post flop mistakes which i dont always do.

more happy thoughts is ive continued to find spots where i have been folding top pair and felt good about it.

lastnight mp raised 6 .. co and button and i called in sb with kq.... i didnt 3bet which was mistake and if i cbf 3betti ng these hands i should just fold out the way.

board goes kj7 and i check and someone bets and gets raise... i muck without another thought.

so thats good news for me.. have to give myself credit where due. Usually once or twice a session ill see these folds. so thats a whole buyin or 2 im saving and making more money in other areas due to experience. So no suprise the winrates getting higher so yeh good things going for me.

moving forward

will practice quitting those neutral sessions longer and push playing a winning session longer.. thats the plan

How many tables and hands are you usually playing in your 2NL sessions? I've been keeping it at 4 due to lack of good tables and screen size (only playing on a laptop.)

The 75s hand the other night in a bit more detail as i saw it.

The leadup

thinking to myself i need a good hand now. ive been short stacked for sometime i was down to $15 and i dug myself out. i feel im going to win because if i was going to lose it wouldve already happened and somehow everytime i faced judgement i stayed alive and lately the last hands i was in i won such as

T7s i limped with a few and flopped monster draw against the guy who flushed against me with 93s... so i put rest of the 15 in and ofc i hit flush on river... was funny cuz i love monster draws.

next hand was J8 i thought ill put in half now and half if i hit. So yeah limpers and i raise 20 if i get shoved i have to call and hope they have Ax or lower pairs than 8s anyway i get a caller and flopped the jack and i shove rest and double up.

steal a pot now i have about $90

now the actual hand 7s5s

limpers and i am in the bb and check.... flop goes 7c5c4d

i check and im going to raise here. Im concious about not being aggro enough lately i had TT and paid the price so i wasnt going to do same mistake.

all check to the button and im thinking Ugh!!! but hold on button raises $10... phewww and sit there briefly and think heres the fun part time to light things up haha raise $30.. everyone calls the 30 but wait !!!! button raises to 58 and is all in haha im not worried about sets here because i block them but he could have a straight.

being original raiser i cant bet again because he was allin ao i call... now wait the most aggressive player now raises to $120 lol And wait it gets weirder the lady reg calls next to her as well omg.... i could have any cards here pretty much i have to call so much value. Also the raisers mindset against me is if he put pressure on me he will get folds. Thats what i felt he thought and this is great for me when i set traps. Also an oversight on his behalf could be because im forced to call $58 he couldve sensed weakness. So the short stacker triggers the trap and the aggressive guy was in the target zone :)

no more action everyones in and im thinking no more clubs and dont pair the board.

turn comes Jc hahaha arrrrrrr!!!! im bout to standup to leave and river was a 2.

i show 2pair and i wasnt confident.

aggressive guy folds his open ender str draw... lady reg shows 10s and the button showed QQ and i win the pot.

im thinking wtf just happened.

immediately after im thinking now dont go into any rash decisions now and settle down and make sure keep posure.. our stack now is $420

being card dead and then my game sliding by not 3betting in common spots i do ... this is a good sign to leave a live session ;)

yeah well im going twice a week now during time off and hoping i can keep it going. Its quite tiring the late nights so a lot of other factors will come into play. 7 tables on a tues night at casino is good .. atm aussie millions is here so a lot of overseas tourney players have nothing better to do and will play cash if eliminated

todays 1k hand session

Well not very good but not bad either... hanging in there.

Not much to say but except trying to push the aggression back up near 60% prolly around 55 at this stage.

Yesterday was 40 and usually my average has been 50 agg %... for a while I managed to keep it at 60% and did well at it.

I think aggression probably more important higher stakes. Like a few say, don't get tricky at micros because your just tricking yourself!

some might ask now why am I lurking at 2NL ... well tbh its holidays and 2NL is stressfree for now... I'm enjoying poker at 2NL and also 100NL at casino.... Perhaps when I move up to 300NL at casino i'll jump up at 10NL and when i'm at 500NL casino live I'll be at no less than 25NL... Will see for now...

So far this year
Online profit is $39.07
Live: $103

I've managed to grind $1200 in live so far over last couple of months. So that's promising, just making sure online doesn't take my live winnings and just use Online as training/practicing for now. But soon will go to 5NL online again but theres no rush for now.
Just want to build up a solid roll online again without depositing. online roll is $239 for anyone curious :)

todays online session

todays session I decided I wanted to push the aggression factor... at early stage I was up pushing slightly above 70% but slipped back to 60% :)

Decided to be very watchful with quitting sessions... I wanted to quit session before things got sour or I got tired... tonight I'm going casino again anyway.

I'll keep this tally going :)
Online:+$44.09 (I will start going 5NL once we above $100 profit)
Live:+$103

Some more aggression... couldn't handle betting half or 2/3 to fold river... so we shove turn(get some folds) and let the poker gods sort the rest out and make him do the work!

Casino session lastnight... i kept going as long as i could but i just couldnt get that run of 2 or 3 wins
Always got a nasty hand inbetween but stayed afloat

early start of the session i gave some easy chips which let me down but after a while i played solid and even the losses werent bad.

7.30pm to 3.30am

tried my best to get 2 or 300 but never came. got sucked out on but won a few back as well.

best two pots were 75s open ender and 4 ppl allin plus flush draw and people get angry when i won and AA no one in their right mind put me on this hand it was well disguised and i was 3betting wide a lot at this stage.

1 reg showing his fustration .. during a hand i was bettting and hes like ur a bastard blah blah ... i just said it was part of the game sry nothing personal and then he calls me and loses again.

he did have kk over my aa and i lost a $180 pot
someone didnt believe me in another hand and shoved on a gutshot and well he caught lol ... its not about how good you win but how you lose.

main reason got up was time and a new player sat down and seemed decent.... still thin value betted against him and he showed 1 or 2 things and i thought its time to leave... still playing great but yeh this guy on left

+$120

live: $223
online: $44.06
