hi there. first of all, you shouldn't limit yourself to a daily calculation of how much per hours per number of hands. in poker you have different ways to make money with tournaments and by opening more than one table at the same time. its a skill to acquire, but achievable. go on and try.

Dude just stay on Topic, he clearly asked for advice for cashgames. Read - Think - Answer not the other way around ;)

Was is it with all the destructivity in this Forum? Keep it positive!

Nobody wants to hear Bad-Beat-Storys and such. It cleary is possible. Hundreds have done it and will do it. Dont let your Dreams be Dreams! Work hard and improve!

This is the answer of my question in my mind because most of the time i play cash game i lost a lot of money but when i play tournament tables i make some profit but very small. I will try to play both spin and sit n go.

Hi Luepso for me the focus was on how he could win 50$/day from poker and I have sticked to the main Topic "but playing cash games is not as profiteable" and I suggested if his goal is to achieve 50$ per day better to play Sit'n'Gos because he wants to play 4 hours and get the equivalent of 50$ per day at the end of the week or month,so I will keep my advise play 2-3 Sit'nGo 10$-20$ buy ins during 4 hours a day with a good Bankroll management and good skills and if he manages to be in the money for just 20% of his subscribed games will make his goal achievable and as you see what seemed Bad advise for you was accepted as a good one by boonvech. Good luck on the Tables where aggressivity is higly profiteable but in life Flexibility is more profiteable.Peace

statistically you will need to increase the amount of game hours to reach the desired amount. my question is: if you have not managed to win in 2NL, how will you do in 5NL? before going up one level you must overcome and be a winner in the previous one, take hold in the levels is the basic rule, as is the BANK CONTROL, unless you have the right bank is not recommended to level up. (There is a very good article about this in strategy).

You are saying SnGs are more flexible, how can a gametype where you literally sit down, play, and stand up and go as you like be less flexible timewise than a SnG?
Second, BR-Management: right so lets say you want to play SnG for 10$ (1-Table) you will need a min BR of 100 buyins so around 1000 $, id go with even more. Do you see where im getting here? If I were to play NL1k sure id could make 50$ a day. Just steal 5 blinds a day and youre good to go

And I dont see why someone would suggest playing SnGs if someone asks for Cashgame advice. Both are different kind of games, wich require different types of skills. No hard feelings but if i ask for an apple i dont want someone to tell me grapes are better ;)

No, I totally disagree here. Work, get better day by day. Then, someday, you will find yourself living the dream. The little achievments wich you acomplish day by day, hand by hand will result in big success.- Not a quote, but the way to actually be successfull ;)

I make a living on the 1/2 live cash tables through out So Cal. 50$ a day is possible but it is not easy at all. you will have to put in countless hours of studying and progressing. One of the most important things to playing 1/2 live cash is to find a poker room and go to the same one. Learn and adapt to the players. Be patient through out the process. It takes time like as in months of grinding to learn how to turn a consistent profit at 1/2.

Here are some results from February so you get a better perspective as to how much you can make on a 1/2.

½ NL finances log
2/6= +200, 8 hours win
2/7= -160, 8 hours lose
2/8= +385, 8 hours win
2/9= +385, 12 hours win
2/10= -65, 12 hours loss
2/11= +480, 10 hours win
2/12= -10, 10 hours loss
2/13= +350, 12 hours win
2/14= -110, 12 hours loss
2/16= +426, 10 hours win
2/17= +380, 9 hours win

This is a good question and I'm glad I found your post. I play at your level too, but I do mix in many MTTs and do pick up some pretty good money there. Also I have 4 sites with pretty good BRs on each. I play them all in a days time. Well I don't play 10/12 hours a day. I play about like you were saying, 5 hours play is about all the focus span I have at 58. And you may wonder how the hell I play on 4 sites in 5 hours to have enough play time to win even 50 cents. Well I've got real used to playing 3 and even 4 tables at once in the past 16 years, and ain't that some shit that I'm playing still at 5nl. MONEY says what level I can play at. Anyway you asked if you could play 5 hours a day at 5nl and win $50 a day. And that's one table right? If it is, no you can't win that much in even a week. For example, for the past 3 days I have been going back and forth to a cash table on Global Poker and I would say I would play 1 hour each time, and I've not won the first dollar. But I don't sit there and lose over a dollar either. If your game's not on, no reason to stay. So that's why I play the MTTs a lot. You can hit 1/10 of those and really boost your BR. I just took a small buyin down at SB for $145. I hope that wasn't too blunt, and I don't know how long you been a member here and working on your game, but believe me, if you ask for advice and it's given by experienced members, take it as the truth. But you know we all have our pride and believe in ourselves to be able to do what we plan and reach out for those dreams no matter what, so my friend, if you have to see for yourself, I don't blame you a bit, because I sure did, but I'm sorry to say that I come back licking my wounds, and nothing left but 1000 more questions, and needing the advice renewed in my mind, because I forgot. But one thing I never done was to quit what I was trying to do here, which has been worth it's weight in gold for the long haul. 8 years a member here my friend, and I still have a ton of things to work on. These days the way I play, I let those things run through my mind while playing, and that has really helped me. It's really never ending and I'm sure you see my post is about the same, and I'm sorry that I run long, but it might as well be my trade mark here. I write books, not normal answers to other posts. Anyway, I hope a little of it will help you, and GL on your mission. Stay positive and it will happen in the long run.

I would recommend playing tournaments of little value but good prizes, so when you do not play in a couple of days you have already made some profit in one, not every day you win so try to win 3 times or four in a day so when lose and do not win your gain will not have diminished
