Start at 1/2. If you're playing recreationally there's no reason to play at higher stakes really. Or at least wait until your more experienced so that you can enjoy the game against tougher and/or cash-spewier players.

Are you playing the Borgata in AC? 2/5 is a cluster **** there. Super rich people throwing money around attracts shark players into the water. So you get some pretty crazy hands. There's probably a number of casinos like that.

Anyway, what you might be seeing is "ODDominos". First player is spewy and bets/raises light, second player has a strong to decent hand and calls, third player has a fair speculative hand and calls, fourth player has position and is getting such a good price he tags along too, and now anyone else in the hand is getting better than 4:1 on their money so they're all comin' along too!

There are ways to profit on these kinds of tables, but it takes a bit of experience.

Here is the best suggestion you will get out of this thread: If you need to ask about starting hands, you should NOT be playing 2/5.

Best advice, I've seen. $2/$5 is a different game, altogether. It's all about disposable income, and sick preflop action. ABC poker need not apply.

I believe you should really focus on the fundamentals and grind your way up. I understand that your bankroll allows you to play higher games but you must learn how to truly start becoming a winning player and then once you do that you will notice your bankroll will grow even larger and then not only can you play higher stakes you can win at higher stakes.
