Ok...For some reason, I didnt copy the hand history here....but, I will give you the scenerio best I can....let me know what you would do.

Notes:

- 0.25/0.50 NL HE Table, 6 handed
- Been at the table for 20 minutes
- Baught in for 40.00
- Sitting with 34.00
- Table is pretty tight
- I have happened to raise 1 opp 4x when they have limped
- Previous hand dealt KK on button, opp. had limped UTG, and folded

Hand Dealt: AsKs (Button -1)

- Folded to me, I raise to 2.25
- SB Folds, BB ***player that I have raised 4x previously*** thinks, and raises to a total of 5.00
- I think about it, and come to the observation that she must be getting pissy because of my raises so I reraise another 8.00 (2x her bet) making it a total of 13.00 (I wanted to get an understanding of where I was at).....she thinks for a wee bit, and reraises all in, another 10.50

My questions are:

a) Do you reraise her $5.00 bet based on the information I have provided?
b) If you do, do you then call her all in, even though you got information that she most likely has a viable hand?
c) Do you fold to her all in, with an already 26.25 pot (was only 10.50 more to call here) and assume your AsKs is beat?

See, personally....I do not like to go all in preflop with AK, even if it is suited. However, based on the information, I really felt at first that she was just making a play back at me.....and then I thought to myself.....well, she could have 99, TT, JJ, QQ, AK, AQ, AJ.....all hands that a lot of micro-stake NL Cash game players would push with against an aggressive player.....the only 2 hands I REALLY dont want to see here is AA or KK.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on this???

Cheers,
Derek

I have a question for you.

Were you aware that that reraising was likely to give you your opponent only two real options ( all in or fold ) - based on her stack size????

If you were and you believed, with fairly good reason, that she was very likely to be playing back with you with either a) nothing ( 20+% chance ) or b) a marginal hand, eg a/q, a/j. j/j, 10/10, 9/9. 8/8. 7/7, 6/6, 5/5, ( 70+% Chance or c) AA/KK/QQ/AK (less that 10% chance )

( my % chance are total estimates based on conditions that you mention)

Then I think the all-in move with AKs is fine ( especially at 0.25 levels where there are lots of emotional players). In fact I think it is a long term is at least cost neutral based on the conditions that you explain.

the Issue is that you will have high varience. This is fine if you have the right bankroll and do not suffer from tilt after losing a hand like this.

My view is just because you may have lost this hand you will have done little wrong..... The question is - did you mean to do it?

Look at it this way; you've pushed this player around in the past, and you are now getting the chance to take AKs to the river with 2.7:1 pot odds vs what is most probably a marginal hand. I call for sure.

calibanboy's range (which I see as pretty accurate):

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 53.377% 48.02% 05.36% 71530890 7984564.50 { AsKs }
Hand 1: 46.623% 41.26% 05.36% 61470429 7984564.50 { 55+, AJs+, AJo+ }

So without even including bluffs in the above range, we're getting 2.7:1 on a 1.1:1 shot - eeeeeasy call.

^^did the math wrong; didn't assign probabilities to each set of hands...nevermind :p.

But even after checking we're actually a bigger favourite then I thought.

AK is one of those hands you WANT to see all 5 cards with, so all in preflop isn't a bad play at all as long as you put the chances of them having AA or KK less than say 20%. You are a coin flip against any pair and dominating any other non-pair hand. With your current read I say call here. This not to say that villan didn't wake up with aces and is now scream "yes, yes, I got this jerk."
