I just posted some simple calculations in the Poker General thread, I am going ot take some time later tonight (maybe tomorrow) and do some more complicated examples like the one Zebranky mentioned.

funny thing...

the actuals odds of flopping "trips or better" is almost exactly 12%.

Iif you have pocket Tens, then the odds of flopping 3 tens (or better) is 11.75 % - but there's also a .25% chance of a trip board (e.g. 999) for a fullhouse, making it pretty much spot on 12% to flop trips/boat/quad.

Weird how it works out, huh?

I'd love to see the formula.
In numbers:
1 - 48/50*47/49*46/48 = 0.1176
In words:
100% minus the odds of NOT flopping a ten (i.e. any of the remaining 48 cards coming down on any of the three flop cards). You read this as "one minus the prob of not a ten AND not a ten AND not a ten".

This then gives the odds of flopping AT LEAST one ten (two would give you quads). This number also includes FH's (from a paired board).
