preflop: fold >> raise >>>>>>>> call. You have a terrible hand, easily dominated OOP. Also, don't open limp at 6max.

Your play from teh flop onwards is fine. Personally, I might check the turn a lot, but its not like betting it is very bad. After his minraise on the turn and his strong river lead, you're def beat.

In future, please convert your hand

Most people DON'T convert hands, as far as I konw there is no rule on it. I sure as hell don't do it, I hate the way it looks.

Anyway: Open-limping (especially with A/rag) is a sin. Either raise it or fold, that way you know if there are other aces out there. As played, I would've checked the turn, fearing a better ace, and if there was a bet I'd fold, and I'd fold to his river bet too.

emperor,

LOL, thank you for 100% proving my point. Because the hand is not converted, you cant see whats going, and you've managed to miss teh most impostant factor in the hand...namely that hero has the nuts flush draw. Which is why folding on the turn would be horrible with top pair and NFD.

I know that most ppl dont and that there is no rile on it, but for obvious reasons there SHOULD and in a few days or so, I'm going to stop replying to threads with unconverted hands

That would be a huge waste dbitel, I read your posts and like them. Most hands posted in this forum aren't converted, starting with mine. I have no idea how to do it (lol, I'm not exactly a computer literate :) ) and I never bothered because it isn't a rule. This, of course, doesn't mean that I can't learn.

Rather than not replying to threads why not start one explaining how to do it? Or maybe we should get one of the mods to do so, because I'm quite sure I'm not the only one (lol or am I?) that doesn't know how to do it. I'm not saying to necessarily make it a rule, that's not up to me. But at least it wouldn't happen just because members (like me) have no clue.

I wouldn't worry about those who think that the HH in the original format is better, they say that because its what they're accustomed too, and if they prefer they could keep posting it in original format.

Anyways, on to the OP, fold that hand PF, no more to add because hands like that should not be called.
Only donkeys call A-rag preflop and I' not gonna sugar-coat this reply.

thanks for the replies, no more limping with ragged aces. for the record, i was playing pretty loose this game(and it was 6 handed), but i didnt know limping with low aces was so bad.

i've been playing poker 'seriously' for about a month, play money at first to build my confidence and then decided to make a deposit once i cashed in a full tilt free roll about a week ago. i figured i was going to be ok at the micro tables if i can make it through the 2700 player tourny.

Think it's all been said above - if you were determined to play that hand, a pre-flop raise would probably have given you a better idea of where you stood.

What hand(s) did you put him on when you folded?

I would only play this hand if I was on the button and it got folded around to me and then I would come in for a decent raise then continuation bet to try to steal the pot if the blinds called. Otherwise I'd never play this unless it was suited then I'd be looking for a 2 pair on the flop or a backdoor flush draw (4 flush in hand).I limp a lot with Ax suited if It's not raised because you can get good implied odds on a backdoor flush and sometimes stack someone who has a straight or like a king high flush but Ax off-suit is really just a hand to get yourself into trouble with, easy fold. One key point in poker is that you really want to avoid playing hands that are gonna be dominated. Dominated meaning your opponent has the same pair but a higher kicker, the classic example is having AQ and you pair your queen but get stacked by someone who has AK. Otherwise your play was fine in my opinion. Between betting and checking this on the turn I'd bet it. The reason is like David Sklansky says if you're gonna play it you might as well bet it because it gives you fold equity in that everyone might fold and it definitely looks like we're gonna be playing our nutflush draw to the river unless someone makes a big bet like a potsized bet then I'd fold because the stack sizes arn't bigenough to give you good enough implied odds. On the other hand some players would check and try to see the river for free or cheap which is an acceptable strategy I just prefer to play more aggressively when I'm on a draw. Hope this helps. Peace.

how childish is this?

its like your not playing fair so Im taking my G.I. joe's home and you cant play with them. I know im not alone when I say most of us really enjoy reading your comments on hands dbitel and it would be a great loss for the forum not to hear what you think about on hands but come in 90% of the hands will not be converted. I like you but come on grow up.

as for OP, everything has been said that needs to be.

storm,

unf, theres not really any hand converters that work easily and perfectly with CC (I know nick is sorting this out), but it will be a lot easier for every1 if hands are converted, and so I was just trying to encourage people to convert their hands

And you shouldn't segregate us because we don't use hand converters. I don't use hand converters because I can't. bodog doesn't let you copy & paste hand histories. It's really shitty but what you gonna do. So no more helping Bodog players? :afraid:

I have been on many forums so I do agree with you that hand converters are 100% better but keep posting. Like I said I enjoy your posts and I missed them while you were away. Plus its good to have someone else that does videos like Joosie and I do.
